Great One Piece Nate player

Pros: It is very balanced and feels a lot lighter than it actually weighs. The only reason, in my opinion, that the price is cheaper from other good bats, is the design, which is a little plain. It has just as much pop as any other bat I have had. It also has a great grip.

Cons: None except how it looks.

Everybody makes mistakes! Even LS Kevin O coach

Pros: After dry swinging a couple dozen BBCOR bats - and demo-ing the '15 515 Omaha at our local shop - my son agreed to give the Assault a shot. Balance is fantastic. To my player, it was the best feeling 1 piece Aluminum bat on the market. The handle bias in the weighting makes the swing weight feel lighter - and the benefits my son recognizes are: 1 - more swing speed and 2 - better control when he needs to adjust mid-swing. Really seems to drives the ball well. This bat is a really solid value at current (October 2014) price-point. Already a favorite bat of some of several of my son's team-mates.

Cons: There are only 2 that come to mind. 1. Why did LS ever drop the Omaha name? 2. The metallic paint is sharp - but scuffs and chips easily. That said - I like the quiet color-way and quiet graphics. The bat is a sleeper.

Pros: Best bat I had so far, best $70 ever spent, it has increadible pop, it's light weight, doesn't vibrate at all. Perfect for practice and games. solid bat Coach Tom coach

Pros: Solid bat. This is the Omaha. If you watch college baseball you will see the old blue and green Omaha stil in use accross the country. It is a proven performer. Fast through the zone but you can still feel the barrel through the swing unlike the handle weighted bats. More like a wood bat. Has as much "pop" as any of them. Best deal out there right now.

Cons: No flashy paint job. but only a con if you like that sort of thing.

For certain hitters out there this will be a great tool for their hitting needs. My son made good contact with the ball . Pros: Great bat. Don't believe any talk about durability issues. My son out grew his bat. I took it to a tree just to see what it would do. Nothing after 10 swings. Is there going to be a 2014 Exo? awnserthisquestionplease
No, the Exogrid is being discontinued. Louisville Slugger will be releasing the Raid which is three-piece design. It will use AC21 alloy in the barrel and the Pure 360 composite in the handle. Louisville uses the TRU3 to strengthen the link between the barrel and the handle to give it a trampoline spring and reduce vibrations on contact.
John

The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR: BBAT14-RR Adult bat will be the new model of the 2013 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR.

Kara
Is this a good bbcor bat for a contact hitter? I was looking for a balanced bat with a light swing weight. sss
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) is a great option if you are looking for a balanced bat with a light swing weight. This bat features the Flex Band Barrel Technology, which makes the Assault have one of the lowest BBCOR swing weights available on the market today. The balanced swing weight is also typically preferred by contact hitters, so this would be a great option for you.
Tessa L.
Between the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) Adult and the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult, which is a better choice for a power hitter like myself? mw23
Both the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) Adult and the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult are more balanced for contact hitters. The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) Adult and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult are more end loaded for power hitters.
Damon
Are there any other differences with the 2013 Omaha Balanced BBCOR besides the name and paint scheme? njk
No, the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR Adult) will feature the same material and design as the previous model year Omaha Balanced BBCOR model.
Brandon
Which of the following would be a better bat for a contact hitter that has some decent power. The 2014 Marucci One or the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault? bmart14
The 2014 Marucci ONE BBCOR: (MCB1) and 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault will both be fairly balanced one-piece alloys. The flex barrel technology in the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault will definitely be a good benefit for contact hitters. Both of these bats however, will provide some pretty good pop and momentum with the alloy construction.
Merritt
Is this bat for contact hitters? A-money
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) is a balanced one-piece alloy bat with a light weight feel that would be ideal for contact hitters.
Gary T.
Is the bat ASA 2000 or ASA 2004? steph
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) does not feature any type of ASA certification. ASA is a softball governing body and the Assault BBCOR is a baseball bat.
Patrick
Is this bat balanced the same as Omaha balanced? blake
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) is going to have the same balance as the Omaha balanced model.
Kelby
How does this compare to the Easton Surge?I am looking for a bat similar to it with the same amount of pop. Which should I get the Assault or Attack? jjones
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) is a one-piece bat, where the Surge was a two-piece. If you want something with a similar feel, I would go with the Attack.
Justin R.
Does this come in red? bvanderver
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) is not available in red.
Kara
Is this one of the best aluminum bats for a power hitter? aballer
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR: BBAS14-RR Adult is designed for a power hitter because of its one-piece design.
Zach
I am looking for a bat that is similar to the Easton XL3 but a little cheaper. Would this bat be the best choice for me? RobGeronimo
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) would be similar in that it is a one piece alloy design. However, the 2014 Easton XL3 (BB14X3) is an end-loaded design and the Assault is balanced. There are not really many end-loaded one-piece alloy designs available. Currently, the closest we have that would be a good option would be the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403).
Patrick
Which bat is better for a contact hitter, that has a better weight distribution and faster swing time, the Lousville Slugger Assault or the Rip It AIR? Chris
The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) will have a more balanced feel and a lighter swing weight of the two.
Bobby
Is this bat good for power hitters? If not, what bat would you recommend? roberto rodriguez
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) is great for any type of hitter. The balanced swing weight is ideal for contact hitters and the one-piece design provides a stiff feel for power hitters.
Jason
How is this different from Easton's (BB14S500)? Which bat would be better for a contact hitter? Also, which bat is more durable? Lily Chiu
Both models are going to incorporate a one-piece alloy design. Generally, this type of structure is going to be preferred by a power hitter because it will be a little stiffer. The biggest difference will ultimately come down to the type of material that is used. The 2014 Easton S500 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14S500) will incorporate a 7050 Air Craft Alloy, and the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BBAS14-RR) will incorporate ST+20 Alloy. In terms of durability, both of these models will be similar. However, I would say the 2014 Easton S500 BBCOR (BB14S500) will be slightly more durable.
Merritt
Does this bat carry the .50 stamp? Hammer3392
Yes, the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) features the BBCOR .50 stamp on the barrel.
John
How does this bat perform as opposed to the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype and 2014 5150? How is its swing speed compared to those two? nb19
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) is most comparable to the 2014 Rawlings 5150. The 5150 and the Assault both have balanced swing weights and will provide you with the quickest swing speeds. The RIP-IT Prototype has a slightly end loaded design and will swing heavier than the other two models. All three bats are stamped with the BBCOR certification stamp, so the performance is very similar between the three.
Jason
Which bat is better for a place hitter the Louisville Slugger Assault or Warrior? rh13
Both the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) and Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB12W) are well balanced for a place hitter. The Assault has a higher performing alloy.
Damon

The 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5153) is the most recent model that would meet those descriptions. The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) is similar in design as well.
Patrick
Is this bat the same as the 515 Omaha? If not, what are the differences? jake
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) and the Omaha 515 are both very comparable bats. They both feature balanced swing weights and are made out of the ST+20 alloy. The differences are the cosmetic look and the 30 day performance promise on the Omaha 515.

Jason
Is this bat or the 5150 higher performing? Which is more balanced? T
The Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) and the 2015 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB5150) will both feature one piece full alloy designs with a balanced swing weight. Joe
If I need a 31/28. Would the 32/29 still be OK? I want this bat but I don't know if the length and weight will matter, considering how everyone says it's really light. b33_12k
The Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) will have a very light and balanced swing weight to it. The 31" and 32" would most likely work well for you.
Brandon
Is the Assault more balanced than the Rawlings 5150? What is a good end-loaded model? JW
The Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) will feature a one piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight that will be very similar to the Rawlings 5150 and VELO. If you were looking for an end-loaded BBCOR model, we would recommend the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403).
Joe
Is this bat end loaded or balanced? Yessir!!
The Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) is going to be a balanced bat.
Frankie
Which is better for a semi-power hitter: the Marucci One or the Assault? bp3
The Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) and the Marucci One are equally great choices for a player who can hit for both power and contact, since they feature the same makeup. Both bats feature a balanced swing weight as well as a one-piece alloy design. The balanced swing weight of both models will allow player to work on bat speed and control with ease and tends to be preferred by contract hitters. A power hitter will tend to prefer a one-piece bat because the one-piece design isn't as forgiving as a two-piece. Two-piece bats with a lot of flex can be a bad thing for a power hitter because it can cause loss of bat head control and a late whipping action.
Tessa
Is this the same bat as the 2015 515 Omaha BBCOR from Slugger? Johnny
The Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) has very similar design and performance characteristics to the 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5153).
Patrick
Is this bat USSSA approved? Meli
The Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBAS14-RR is BBCOR certified and it does not feature the USSSA stamp. Sometimes BBCOR bats can used in USSSA, but it is always best to check with a coach or league official first.
Jason
Does it have the USSSA stamp? Viper
The Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBAS14-RR will not feature the USSSA stamp; it will feature the BBCOR certified stamp (this bat would be approved for high school and college play as well as any other leagues that require a bat be BBCOR certified).
Cameron
What is return policy for this bat for non warranty related issues? What if I get the bat and just don't like the performance? Can I return it? Jeff

Although, once the bat comes into contact with a baseball it then becomes used and would not be eligible for a return. About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
