Pros: Graphics are cool, seems to hit ok.
Cons: Worst grip I have ever felt. I would not have bought this bat if I had felt it before buying.
Pros: Sweet graphics
Cons: The barrel is very small compared to every other $299 bat I have seen/used. I am dissappointed. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the grip is not good on this bat.
Pros: This is without question the best BBCOR bat I have ever hit with. I tried this bat in a batting cage, as well as all of the other top BBCOR bats. This bat blew away the competition. It has a loud ping noise when it hits. I just don't understand why the two people who have given a review basically said the only problem is that the grip is hard, and they gave it two stars? The grip is fine as long as you wear batting gloves. Everyone where's them anyway. Awesome bat and the barrel is no smaller than any other bat out there.
Cons: None.
Pros: Best Rawlings bat i have ever hit with. Amazing pop on this bat. Very well balanced.
Cons: Grip is bad without batting gloves, but with batting gloves its very good.
Pros: This bat has good pop and feels good of the bat but the ball simply doesn't go far. It feels like you blast one but its just a fly ball.
Cons: not a lot of length off the bat, grip isn't good
Pros: This is definitely the best BBCOR bat - very very big sweet spot. Well balanced. I also like the cosmetic. Look very nice!
Cons: None
Pros: I switched from DeMarini Voodoo to this Rawlins bat and I am very impressed. Great pop and very well balanced. Just a great bat love it.
Cons: None
Pros: Best BBCOR bat there is (and I've hit most of them). Hard to believe, but it is more solid than last year's model. The ball seems to fly off. No vibration, great graphics. I also love the grip.
Cons: None.
Pros: Best BBCOR on the market (and I hve hit a number of them). This one is better than last years Velo model, which I loved. It is perfectly balanced and the ball flys off the bat. Some have complained about the grip, but I love it.
Cons: None that I have seen so far.
Pros: It is by far the best bat I have used. It has pop and shows to be 5-8 mph faster bat speed which helps at the varsity level. Great feel in the handle. I Like it better than the 5150 which was my last bat.
Cons: Only hang up is trying to find it. Stores are afraid to stock bats not knowing what is going to be hot or what is going to be disallowed. Hopefully, in the next couple weeks they will have them in because it is time to buy High School bats!
Pros: Great bat! This bat is extremely well balanced and has a great pop and sound to it.
Cons: Grip isn't very good if you aren't wearing batting gloves
Pros: Well balanced, and great pop.
Cons: None.
Pros: Took my first BP with my 2013 VELO. It has a very well balanced swing as advertised, good sweet spot, and a great sound on contact.
Cons: None, so far.
Pros: Good pop off of the bat, love the sound when you hit it solid, very lightweight which causes great bat speed, overall great bat!
Cons: The grip isn't too good, wish it had the same grip as last year's velo, still a great bat!
Pros: Very great bat. Hit in cages with it and noticed this bat has a ton of pop! I Love it! Its is also very balanced so you can get it through the zone fast. Highly suggest this bat!
Cons: Grip is a little thin, but with batting gloves it isnt noticeable.
Pros: Good Solid alloy with POP, Rawlings has a good product.
Cons: old metal sound on contact.
Pros: Love the pop of the bat, send the ball flying no matter what. Best bat i could think of using.
Cons: There is nothing wrong at all with this bat.
Pros: Good pop for a BBCOR bat! Very balanced feel, not end-heavy, good swing speed compared to Easton competitors.
Cons: Grip is cheap, but we replaced it and it is fine now.
Pros: Great Bat! Balance and has good pop.
Cons: The grips are bad! Rawlings need to improve the grips on this bat. This is one of the best bats in the market for 2013.
Pros: I couldn't find a bat better than this one. I hit every one of my teammates bats which include the CF5, VooDoo, Vexxum, Velo, 5150, Marrucci Team, XL1, S1, S2 and Rival. No one beat the Velo. The pop is uncomparable and the balance is perfect. The look is sick. And it hits solid.
Cons: Grip hurts bare hands, but I use gloves anyway.
Pros: Great bat. Good pop and great handle.
Cons:
Pros: Best bat out right now! I first used the Easton S1, but when my friend got the VELO its a whole different world. Great Pop, balance, feel, and look. VELO > S1 and its 100$ cheaper. MUST BUY
Cons: NOTHING. BUY NOW
Pros: Great pop for a well balanced bat!
Cons: None so far.
Pros: This bat has great pop and a balanced swing weight. I would definately recommend this bat to a contact/line drive hitter.
Cons: None
Pros: Very light, and balanced feel. Lots of pop.
Cons: The handle/grip stinks.
Pros: I had an easton hammer and havent got a single hit in 2 1/2 years. BIG SLUMP! but i bought this bat and i hit a hard line drive at the pitcher. He caught it but thigs are on the upside.
Cons: NO CONS! LUV DIS BAT!!! :D
Pros: nice looking bat, seems to be easy to swing
Cons: received this bat when the 2012 velo cap broke, bat just does not seem to have any pop, liked the 2012 model much better
Pros: Great Bat! Excellent pop, well balanced, and good grip with batting gloves.
Cons: Zero.
Pros: Great pop I love the bat.
Cons: The grip is not good at all. The sweet spot is small.
Pros: Great bat! Doesn't seem like a BBCOR bat.
Cons: The handle is terrible. Order a grip when you order the bat
Pros: Has lots of pop. Grest balance. Best BBCOR bat I have seen.
Cons: Everyone wants to use it. The ping makes umps look at the bat to see if it is legal.
Pros: Great balance on this bat. The ping of the bat is my favorite part!
Cons: None.
Pros: it seems like rawlings is on top of the bbcor game can drive the ball even of the handle
Cons: haven't found any other than hitting the ball too hard and hurting someone
Pros: Sounds great grip feels amazing massive sweet spot and best bbcor bat I've ever used
Cons: none
Pros: I hit it 40ft farther than normal. Balanced and very quick swing feeling and a massive sweetspot.
Cons: Just the grip is slippery without batting gloves
Pros: Nice pop.. Balanced
Cons: I had the 5150 VELO and it had a slightly lighter swing weight...... Also.... the 5150 Velos bat grip was very soft and starts to rip very easily so they made up for it with a rock hard grip.....
Pros: i am going to be a junior im 5foot 6 130 pounds i am an average hitter i currently use the demarini voodoo for the past two years and want to buy a new bat what would you recomend
Cons:
Pros: the design is sick!! When you hit the ball it sounds very nice, as well as the grip being very well. great pop and weight balance.
Cons: none I love the bat
Pros: Great bat. Awesome pop and makes a sweet sound. First game using this bag on my second at-bat the other coach made the ump check the bat because he didn't think it was legal
Cons: None
Pros: This bat is amazing. It is the first BBCOR bat I have used and it performs outstandingly. Definitely worth the money.
Cons: None.
Pros:
Cons:
Pros: This bat hits exceptionally well. I enjoy the very loud pop noise when you make contact.
Cons: The grip is very slippery. You need to re-grip it when you buy it.
Pros: Got good pop. Didn't have to break it in at all. First game with it I hit one out 370 ft.. More for a contact hitter.
Cons: Loud.
Pros: absolutely none
Cons: this bat is terrible it has no pop and the grip is horrible rawlings should stick to making gloves
Pros: easy to swing through the zone, has good pop.
Cons: has a very loud ping, thought it would sound more like the 5150.
Pros: great bat ball FLY'S off this bat good bat at a better price and the shipping was fast got it a day early!
Cons: none
Pros: Swung this from a former teammate, the best pop you can get from a BBCOR bat. Excellent durability, getting this for next year.
Cons: Grip could be a little better.
Pros: Has best pop of BBCOR but has short sweet spot. Also has great swing weight for smaller kids
Cons: short sweet spot
Pros: This is the best bbcor bat i've ever used. I had hit zero homeruns until I got this bat now I have hit 3 homeruns.
Cons: Handle a little slippery but batting gloves fix that.
Pros: Great balance and very nice pop.
Cons: Cheap grip, had to replace halfway through the season.
Pros: great bat! lot of pop. balanced
Cons:
Pros: Has much better pop than other BBCOR bats. Also if you like the ping that BESR bats made, this bat makes that same intimidating sound on contact unlike the dead sound of most BBCOR bats.
Cons: None.
Pros: Well balanced Nice Pop I was smokin the ball right away
Cons: None
Pros: Very good balanced bat. Sounds awesome indoors when hit on the sweet spot but more importantly it just flat out has good Pop like the 5150. Any high school player would enjoy this bat without having to spend a ton of money. It was between the Omaha Attack or the Velo, and my son picked the Velo.
Cons: None so far, holding up well.
Pros: I am 6' and 175 lbs. What inch bat should I be swinging?
Cons: None.
Pros: My son is a 5-6, 110 lbs and needed a balanced BBCOR bat. This is his first year having to go to BBCOR. The BBCOR standard is tough on smaller kids, who struggle swinging the bigger bats with less pop. My son was swinging Combat Potent BBCOR and could not get it through the zone, and was only hitting weak grounders. The Combat was too end loaded, and had no pop. Purchased the Velo, and he loves it. Great pop, nice sound--he can actually get the ball into the gaps now. Good balance for the smaller kids, which makes a huge difference for my son. It has raised his confidence a ton.
Cons: none yet
Pros: this bat have excellent pop!!!!
Cons: none
Pros: great pop and not very top heavy
Cons: a little loud at contact
Pros: Lots of POP! Well Balanced, feels lighter than it is. My 13 year old son is hitting great with it and loves it!
Cons: Bat is loud indoors! Makes your ears hurt... But it's worth it.
Pros: Loud ping, great pop, great hits, beautiful design.
Cons: Without batting gloves, the grip is crappy. It will fly out of your hands if you don't wear gloves.
Pros: WOW! Great Pop immediately. My 13 year old gets this around faster than his S1, his Omaha TPX and his CF 5. Sorry boys he just does. Im a dad that has tried all the hype bats and trust me this bat is soooo good his confidence is through the roof.
Cons: Zero
Pros: Huge pop. Loud ping. Lasts through bp and games for over 2 seasons.
Cons: Grip is thin and slippery. Not a big sweet spot(though it teaches you to square the ball up)
Pros: balanced, has great pop, overall great bat for high school players
Cons: none
Pros: well balanced and nice sound when you hit the ball and has alot of pop
Cons: nothing really
Pros: this bat was very impressive the first time i hit it in the batting cages and i heard the loud noise of the bat. the sound made everyone stop what they were doing. Trust me i was looking at this bat for a while and i cant believe i didnt get it sooner just stop looking and get this beast bat
Cons: none at all
Pros: The bat is super balanced and has amazing pop I hit with my brothers 2014 rawlings trio and its msrp is about $399 and the velo has 10x more pop, super loud ping! I would definatley recommend this bat to everyone
Cons: none ... none at all
Pros: solid feel, comfortable to swing, looks good and feels good, ball rockets off of this bat when solid contact is made
Cons: only thing that bothers me is that it seems like the bat takes too long to move from the handle into the barrel but this was no problem once i started ripping em
Pros: -Tons of pop -Great feedback(sting on hands if hit incorrectly) -Aluminum PING! sound(personal preference) -Well balanced
Cons: -Grip is slippery(apply pine tar and this problem is eliminated) -Small sweet spot
Pros: I switched from the Nike BBCOR series and it is better in every aspect.
Cons: The Grip is absolutely terrible but nothing batting gloves cant fix
Pros: Son had the Rip It Prototype. It was too end heavy and dead feeling. This Rawlings Velo is the Real Deal! Son cannot put it down literally. Loves hitting it. Loud alloy pop...ball explodes off the barrel. He will use it in a 14U tourney this weekend. Standby for followup post.
Cons: Very LOUD ping like traditional alloy bats!
Pros: great pop odd sweet spot
Cons: off the last 2 inches it has 0 pop
Pros: I've had it for about a week, it had tremendous pop straight out of the box. Has a very loud ping to it unlike most BBCOR bats. I am very happy that I purchased it. I like the sleek design and the balanced feel. Compared to my friend's CF6 and performed very well.
Cons: Grip is okay but not great (will be switched) The barrel looks smaller then my friend's CF6, although it didn't effect performance at all.
Pros: it has the most pop in it than any other -3 I've ever used. The ball just feels great of it. Big sweet spot. Just all around great bat. Can't wait to use it during the season
Cons: none.
Pros: this bat is amazing. im the type of guy who struggles between choosing between what bat to get and it was this and the maki. this bat leaves the mako in the dust. get this bat!
Cons: none
Pros: a lot of pop well ballenced over all a good bat
Cons: makes a really loud ding when you hit the ball
Pros: This is the best BBCOR bat I have had ,, I have had the black 5150 and that bad is good but this one is way better !!
Cons: Non
Pros: This bat hits very well for a contact hitters who tend to have a slower bat speed. If you have really quick hands and tend to be a power hitter then this really isn't the bat for you. It does hit the ball hard, but only in warm weather. Very balanced which goes back to being a contact hitters bat, so there's not enough weight behind the swing to really power the ball out the park.
Cons: It sounds like the ball is hit harder than it actually is. No pop in cold weather.
Pros: Well-balanced, light, and has an insane amount of pop
Cons: You may get tired running so many bases
Pros: Very big sweet spot lot better than my easton and voodoo
Cons: None
Pros: this bat has great pop, very balanced , barely any vibration, huge barrel, very very light(31 29) barely weights anything. if your picky like me stop thinking so much and just get it!!
Cons: use batting gloves or you will mess up the grip but nothing to worry about
Pros: Fantastic sound and pop Great Grip Just a well rounded bat really well balanced easy to get around
Cons: none
Pros: Very nice feel and doesn't sound like its a bbcor
Cons: None
Pros: great feel, pop, and sweet spot. Ball jumps off bat.
Cons: grip is ok. I replaced it anyway.
Pros: It has good pop
Cons: I am a power hitter and I have been working on getting quicker hands. I have been hitting in the cage with it and it is ok. I do not really like the way this bat hits. Maybe this bat is just not for me. I will be sending this one back and getting the 5150. Save money and get the 5150 it is an all around better bat.
Pros: Great Pop...large sweet spot. Balanced bat. Umps...parents always ask to see bat after big bombs to make sure it is bbcor!
Cons: Loud alloy ping!
Pros: Great Pop Overall great feel when you hit it
Cons: none
Pros: Very good bat. Amazing feel. Would recommend this bat to every friend. Good bat speed, nice grip, and sweet pop!
Cons: Nothing
Pros: It has a good feel and lots of pop I would recommend this bat to power hiters
Cons: When hit in the middle of the bat it stings very much
Pros: I love this bat. The sweetspot is huge and the pop is amazing. It has better pop than any other bat ive ever hit with, including little leuage, travel ball, and besr. Also it has preety good balance. If hit off the end it stings some but overall great bat
Cons: Grips ok, but with a little athletic tap, its perfect.
Pros: Great bat I played with it this weekend for a tournament and hit great 4-6 best bat out there
Cons: Need to use batting gloves
Pros: pretty good baseball bat has a good sweet spot.
Cons: has a terrible grip had to buy batting gloves
Pros: none
Cons: dents easily
Pros: I got this bat for middle school ball and hit over .400 and in recreational league ihave hit multiple shots 280 and 290 on 300 fields and im only 5'4 115. over all awsome bat!
Cons: nothing at al!
Pros: This bat has lots of pop, no vibration, and swings like a little league bat because of the comp-lite endcap.
Cons: It sounds like broken glass when you hit the ball and has a weird grip. An average general feel. It gets scuffed and scratched a little bit when you hit the ball hard.
Pros: Awseome bat and I barely got out with it, it's a hitting machine!!!
Cons: Vibration and loud ping

About the Brand
Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
