Description

New for It's time to step up and attack the diamond, because the two-piece composite just changed forever! Louisville Slugger proudly introduces their new two-piece composite bat suitably named the TPX Attack. The Attack debuts Louisville Slugger's new two-piece T2 Technology. This revolutionary new transition technology strengthens the link between the barrel and handle to give the Attack a trampoline spring and virtually eliminates vibration on contact. This straighter, thicker rubber ring results in a bat that is not only sturdier, but gives players an unparalleled feel of the ball jumping off the bat. Vibration from mishits are absorbed before they reach the player's hands, allowing players to be more consistent with their hitting. The Attack is constructed from Louisville Slugger's LS-2X Composite that uses thinner, high-strength and lightweight graphite fibers to add more layers to the barrel for reinforced strength, while reducing the overall thickness of the barrel wall. More pop, less weight: that's the formula for better performance AND durability. With a balanced swing weight and an easy to grip 7/8 inch standard handle, this bat will have hitters ATTACKING the strike zone like never before! Louisville Slugger: Be the Best, or Swing the Rest! The Attack is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Pros: Great pop off the bat. It feels good to the swing.

Cons: I know of 4 kids who had fairly new bats cracking at about the TPX part of the bat. I think L.S. has a major problem with this bat just like their ONE-X bat they had a recall on. For this reason I give it a poor review.

Cons: My Attack tee ball bat cracked early on. Just thought I was using it for machine pitch but my softball bat cracked too very early so it has to be defect. my son has just got the 28 Attack for travel ball see how long it last. Awesome pop though...

My son is 4'7" and 71 lbs. He currently uses a Easton Reflex 30" -13. He has plenty of bat speed but there just dosen't seem to be a lot of pop. Would I be better off with theTPX Attack YB13A in a 29" 17 oz? I guess I would perfer the 30" so he could get a couple years out of it. Would this bat provide the pop we're looking for? Thanks G
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: YB13A is made with Louisville's high-performing LS-2X composite and is known to have above average pop. A 29" model would be recommended based on his height and weight, but if he had good swing speed with his 30" 17 oz. Reflex, then he should be okay with a 30" 18 oz. Attack.

Noah
My son's bat doesn't have any pop. Is there anyway to test the bat to see if it has a defect? BRickey549
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: YB13A Youth is a two-piece composite bat that requires a break-in period before it can reach its full potential. If you've taken it through the break-in, and still don't see the performance you should, the bat may have a defect. Unless the defect is visible (ie cracking issues), there isn't a good way for you to test the bat. If you were to get authorization from Louisville Slugger to send it back under the warranty, they would test the bat and could determine if it was defective.
Mac
Does the 31 inch red Louisville Slugger TPX Attack youth bat have a longer barrel then the 31 inch blue Louisville Slugger TPX Attack youth bat? johnny baseball
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: YB13A Youth will have a similar barrel size to the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: YB13A5 Youth.
Kara
What do you mean by " rotating the bat a quarter of a inch every swing" in break in period. TSRBBall15
Rotate the barrel of the bat in your hand a quarter of an inch so you are fully breaking in the composite fibers throughout the bat and not just one side.
John
Does this bat, or any other high end little league approved composite manufacturer (Combat, Demarini, etc...) have a 28 or 29 inch version? My son is smaller ( 9 years old & 70lbs 52 inches tall) and could use the additional pop of a composite bat but I'm having trouble finding a highly rated model in his lenght/weight range. He has a 28", -10, 18 oz 2 5/8" Demarini Vexxum c6ix composite that he absolutely mashes the ball with but it is of course not little league approved. Mac
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is going to be Little League approved and it is a very high rated bat. It was used by almost all of the kids in the Little League world series last year and it comes available in the size you are looking for.
Noah

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
