Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat is approved for play in all major youth associations. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: bat feels and looks great. only hit it in the cage. ball feels to jump off bat. love the sound.i use the cf4 right now. this bat feel better and my bat speed is much more faster. i have a game on sunday, cant wait to try it out live.

Cons: it stings when i miss hit on end of bat. cf4 did not do that. but when you hit it right, it feels good.

Pros: This bat is awesome! It feels very light weight, has tons of pop and I think it is better then the cf5, b4, and b3gear retro. IT IS THE BEST BAT!!!!

Cons: NOTHING.

Pros: 32/20 hits like a 22 feels like a 19 due to Easton placing a weight inside closer to the handle - same weight faster bat speed - head movement is great - when stepping up to major you need the speed - not so much the weight - F=MA

Pros: bat is light, easy to swing. hits great. ball comes off hard. grip feels good. love the sound. much better then the omen. had them both. sold the omen. i also use the cf4 gold. they both hit about the same. but S1 does make your swing speed way fast. great bat

Cons: the only thing is that this bat has some flex to it when you hit a ball. i was hoping the it was more stiffer like the cf4. i use the cf4 all last year. i like the S1 better even though it has to much flex for me. u12 baseball club player

Pros: This bat is at the top of its class. Very simple yet cool look and has the pop to back up the price tag. Grip is phenomenal and the bat seems to be sturdy and solidly made. My son is hitting very well with this bat. Great investment.

Cons: I can't think of one.

Pros: Great pop, easy to swing, very large sweet spot and it is just as good if not better the the omen. It is still good for power hitters because it is stiffer then your typical two piece but it will have some flex for contact hitters. Also it is the same as the omen just different paint job. Overall AWESOME BAT!!!! Please by it you will not regret it.

Cons: I screwed up the break in process so I will have to exchange it. Here is a tip: Do Not use those yellow softer balls they use in the cage it can damage the composite and if you want to break the bat in evenly do 100-150 soft tosses and turn the barrel one fourth every pitch if you want it to break in right.

Pros: Beautiful bat. Arrived in perfect condition (not always the case when you order online). I was a little concerned as Easton - unlike in years past when it gave us the specific MOI of its bats - does not tell us the specific MOI of this bat. However I can assure you it has a low MOI, lower than the Omen in my opinion, making for great swing speed and pop.

Cons: The round rubber label with the letter "E" on the end-cap (you can see it in the pictures above) popped off the first day my son used it. We are exchanging for a new bat.

Pros: GREAT BAT! Well balanced, and the ball jumps off the bat before its even completely broken in...and after its broken in...even better! They say it takes around 150-200 swings to break this bat in, but that wasnt the case for my 9 year old son. Hes only taken around 100 swings with it, and its definately well broken in! I would say its a small step ahead of the Omen, as far as pop.

Cons: It gets scuffed up fairly easy...but what bat doesnt?

Pros: This is Jon again. I posted above that the bat is great but the round, black, end-cap label with a yellow "E" came off the bat the first day. Well, I got a replacement bat and the same thing happened to the second bat: the round, black, end-cap label with a yellow "E" came off the bat the first few days. I tried gluing it on, and it came off anyway after a week or so. I can't believe Easton would put such poor design into a $250 bat. $250 and labels come flying off the bat? Wow. Maybe I'll try made-in-America DeMarini next.

Cons: See above.

Pros: This is a great bat. I would recommend this bat to anyone. It has great pop. My son said that this is the best bat ever. He had the combat B1 and he loved it but he cannot use it anymore. I am so glad that we found this bat.

Cons: The only con I have is the E on the end cap was not on their when we got the bat. but that is not a big deal as long as it hits good.

Pros: I bought this bat for my 9 year old son. He loves it. He never owned a composite bat it has plenty of pop and the weight is balanced perfect. He was able to move up from a 28"-16oz to a 30"-18oz with no bat drag very happy with the purchase.

Cons: A little sting outside of the sweet spot but nothing worth complaining about.

Pros: The Carbon Nanotube Technology (CNT) feels GREAT when you hit it on the barrel. Lots of pop and no sting.

Cons: Doesn't go very far when you accidentally hit the ball with junction of the bat (the part between the handle and the CXN that connects both parts of the bat), but I guess it's not supposed to.

Pros: This bat is amazing and worth every penny. I have purchased my share of high end bats and rarely feel this way. The bat is perfectly balanced and great for any size youth large or small. Its loaded with amazing pop and power. The balls leaves the huge sweet spot like a rocket. The bats looks awesome and demands attention. Want to hit rockets that make infielders duck? How about a few shots over the fence? This is the bat!

Cons: Like a couple reviewers noted, the "E" sticker on the end of the barrel came off when hitting a monster home run. Ummmmm....its a tiny little sticker the size of a dime....who cares??

Pros: Nice bat and it swings light! Does not sting too much. Great for contact hitters! Would make a great bat for younger kids 11 and under. My son had the 31/18.

Cons: With the bat being light it does not have a lot of pop, but it is not designed for power hitters anyway. Ping is very loud when hit on the sweet spot but it's only an issue when taking BP indoors.

Pros: Awesome bat! It looks good and sounds solid when my son hits with it. Great pop as well. He just got the bat yesterday. He had his first at bat with it tonight, he hit a two run homerun to right-center field. We ordered this bat since he cracked his 2011 Nike Aero CX2 in the cage on Monday. So far, he says he likes this bat better.

Cons: None so far. As for all of the other people complaining about the E coming off...His is still intact after the break-in process and one game with a shot over the fence.

Pros: Not much of an Easton fan, and I keep looking for a reason to not like this bat. However, after watching my son struggle with another bat for the first part of his season, we switched him to this bat. Since then, he has gone 7 for 8 with only one strike out. I'm not overly impressed with it, but he can sure put this bat on the ball. It doesn't go as far as hit other bat, but what good is the extra distance if you can't hit it during a game?

Cons: I could name several, but they would all be in my mind rather than reality.

Pros: Bought this bat for my boys last weekend. We took some BP to break it in before they used it for this weeks games. I even hit a few balls with it and wished I had this bat when I was a kid. My 8 yr old went 3 for 3 with two doubles and my 10 yr old went 3 for 4 with a double, a triple, and a HR. All three hit were bombs! This bat has extremely good pop. Half the team wanted to use it.

Cons: A little pricy for little league but can't put a price on the results!

Cons: Did hmwrkm -Bought 2 months ago - still no pop and my son uses it all the time. Also if hit near end - very bad stinger! Also have three other coaches with the same experience with their sons. Pros: Low MOI. Great for 12U.

Cons: No $220 bat should have ANYTHING falling off it, whether it affects the performance of the bat or not. Those of you who blithely dismiss the rubber "E" end-label falling off because it does not affect the bat's performance would be crying to your mommies if the "EASTON" letters fell off the bat - and those letters don't affect the performance of the bat either!

Pros: Swing feels better and is faster then the CF5. When looking at the marks on the sweet spot of the bat, you can see how much the ball/bat compresses and makes contact. This is an excellent bat for line drives. Hit 7 line drive homers in practice. This bat and old Omen have same patents covering design, but this bat makes a crack compared to the thud of the Omen.

Cons: Made in Tiawan, for $200 I would expect it to be made in USA!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S1 Youth Baseball Bat: YB11S1? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this a stiff bat? CVbaseball
This is one of the stiffer bats that are a two piece bat that we have on our site. This is going to be one of the newest bats that we have. This bat uses some of the newest technology on the market.
Todd
This will be a little stiffer than your typicall two-piece bat, but it will offer some flex as you're swinging through the zone.
JD
how long is the break in period and since every is getting worried about the composite bats is it going to have as much pop as the Omen Smoffitt
This bat will need 100-150 soft tosses to break in the bat. All composite bats will need to be broken in. This is going to be the newest version of the Omen.
Todd
How does this bat comare to the Omen? A catchers dad
It is very similar but a slight upgrade. Both are 2 piece full composite designs that have tremendous pop.
Mark
When will the Power Brigade bats be available for shipping? Durango
This is part of the Power Brigade Series and is available to ship now. A lot of the Power Brigade Series is available now, the rest should follow very soon.
John
Does this bat and the omen perform the same? Thomas
Yes, they are very similar bats in performance and durability. However, Easton has made some minor upgrades to the bat.
Mark
Whats better EASTON S1 or DEMARINI CF5? TASTY
It really comes down to personal preference. Both are 2 piece full composites with very good pop.
Mark
Does this bat really give you Speed=Power Tasty
The Speed Line of bats from Easton will have lower MOIs which can result in higher swing speeds for the hitter. Higher swing speeds equal increased performance or power.
John
what is better the easton s1 or the combat b4 and what has more pop.? Thomas
This Easton S1 is going to be one of the hottest bats on the market right now. It is going to be using all the newest technology. It is going to be using the best composite material on the market.
Todd
The Omen has BPF 1.15 on the bat but not the Stamp, does the youth S1 have the BPF 1.15 Stamp on the bat? Shelia
Yes, this bat does have the USSSA stamp.
Kris
Which bat has more pop? This Easton, the other youth Easton xL1, or the youth Marucci cat5? Turbo
The difference between this S1 and the Easton youth XL1, really depends on what type of hitter you are. If you have high swing speed and are looking to add more power, then the XL1 may work better for you. If you are looking to increase your swing speed then the S1 will be a good choice for you. The Marucci Cat5 is an excellent choice. It is a balanced bat that will be on par with the S1 and XL1 in terms of pop.
Mark
I've narrowed my choices down to the S1, COMbat B3 & B4 and having a hard time deciding between these 3. How do these 3 compare to each other? I have 2 boys, 1 who hits grounders and the other hits the balls in the air. Any suggestions? Also, I'm thinking of getting a 30/18 for the boy who hits gounders. He is 53" and weighs about 62lbs. For my other boy, who hits fly balls, is 49" and weighs about 63 lbs, I'm thinking of 29/17 size bat. They both play travelball and little league. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. lostinsf
The S1 is going lightweight and balanced and will give the hitter a faster swing speed than the B3 and B4.
K.B.
This bat the s1 or the marucci cat 5 youth? I'm a contact hitter. Im favoring towards the marucci cat 5 mk
Both bats are great options, the S1 is a two piece full composite design, the Marucci cat5 is going to be a one piece full alloy design, either one could be used for a contact hitter.
Sean
i am 12 and i want a bat that is 32 inches but i dont want 22 oz and my choices are the s1,xl1,and exo what should i get??? newtownbaseball
With a question specific like this you may want to contact us directly at 1-866-321-2287
Jeff
Should i get this or the omen? jett dr
You truly would love either one, they are both 2 piece composite, both have the low MOI for fast bat speed. Easton has really done a great job with both of these bats.
lkh
what will have better bat speed the omen or the s2 or the s1 and which will have the most pop cinco
The S1 or S2 will have better bat speed. Pop will depend on the type of hitter using them. They are all very good bats.
Mark
im a contact hitter and which is the alloy and composite s1 or s2 or are they both cinco
The S1 is a two-piece, all composite bat. The S2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
John
Will this bat be available in s 2 and 5'8 senior league version? If so when? Thanks mike
Yes, they are coming out with the 2 5/8" barrel. Should be out sometime in Nov 2011
Linda
Is the s1 approved for use during the 2012 little league season? dad
Yes, this bat will be approved for Little League.
John
My grandson has hit over 250 balls soft-toss with his new S1 baseball bat and practice two times with it. Yesterday i was at practice and when he hit the ball it sounded like it was dead/ no pop. Is it just not broken in yet or what? GL
After 250 hits, it should be broken in. If you think something may be wrong with your bat you can give us a call at 1-866-321-2287. We'll be happy help out.
TJ
Can you use this bat for fastpitch softball? Car
Probably not. Most fastpitch leagues are governed by ASA rules. This is a youth baseball bat that is not ASA certified.
John
We have heard of young girls using youth baseball bats, but to be safe, check with her league to see if they allow it.
Linda
The description says: "This bat is approved for play in all major youth associations." But, is this bat approved for Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth, Little League, and Pony? Ray
Yes. For 2012 it is approved for all those organizations.
John
is it a good bat for an 11 year old PgHank
Yes, this bat will be a very good option for a 11yr old. This bat has very good POP and will be very durable.
Kris
I know that this bat is legal, but is there any slight chance that they woul make this bat illegal next year? It being stamped, and what not? NOTSAE
This is the newest model by Easton and it meets all little league requirements. Now, barring the leagues don't change the rules again, it will be legal.
Linda
As of today, the bat is stamped as legal for 2012. I don't know if they will change the rules in 2012.
Kara
Does this bat have a lower MOI than the -12 Omen? Jon
No, it's actually about the same as the Omen. Both swing light for faster bat speeds.
Linda
what is the diffrence in the barrel lenth of the s1 and the xl1. like how much larger is the barrel lenth in the xl1 b man
The XL1 will have a slightly longer barrel (no more than a half inch to one inch) than the S1. The XL1 will also have a more end-loaded feel as well.
Derek
Is it going to be allowed in 2012? Josh
Yes, it is approved for 2012.
Kara
(1) Does this bat require "breaking in"? If so, how? (2) Is it OK to clean the balls marks on this bat with Magic Eraser? Or will Magic Eraser damage the finish? Jon
Yes, this bat is all composite and does require some break in. I would just have someone willing to pitch to you and hit, rotating the bat 1/4 turn after each hit for an even break in. As to the Magic Eraser thing, I have never heard of that being used, so I cannot give advice on how it will affect the bat.
Linda
is this bat as good as the stealth? slugga
Yes, it is! It's of the same 2 piece all composite design as the Steath, with Easton's awesome technology.
Linda
We currently have an Omen 29 drop 12 from last summer. Is the S1 stiffer then the 2011 Omen? Crash
The S1 is replacing the Omen. They will be very similar bats. Both at 100% composite and will be a balanced weight.
KG
Is it little league approve? Pman
Yes. It is approved for Little League for this upcoming year.
TJ
Son is 12 and 5"1" 110lbs...Is the 32/20 S1 to big for him or why size would you recommend? He currently swings a 30/18 Combat B1 P
The 32/20 should be a good size for him. General rule is when players turn 12 you should start graduating them into heavier bats to prepare, if they decide to play high school baseball. The required drop weight is a -3 in high school.
Linda
Between the Easton S1,S2,S3. Which bat would be optimal for a 49 inch 60 lbs, medium swing speed contact hitter. Or is one model bat better for certain swing speeds? jtmjw
I would suggest the S1 for him. It has the lowest MOI for quicker bat speed.
Linda
I am going into majors for the first time and was wondering if I should get the easton omen or the easton s1? baseball
The S1 replaced the Omen, so they are going to perform about the same. The only difference is the S1 is going to be a little lighter than the Omen.
Kara
Is this bat LL (composite) approved? Patrick
Yes, this bat meets all of the new rulings and requirements.
Linda
What is the difference between the S1 and the S2? Baseball
S1 is a 2 piece fully composite model. The S2 is 2 piece hybrid alloy barrel/ composite handle bat.
Linda
i am 11 and am 5'2 100 and want to get a composite bat. i have a 31' 20 oz but i want to get this bat but it seems to light. would this be a good bat kemer
These are great bats and is comparable to the omen. But this bat is a -12 and would seem even light than the -11 that you say seems to light. You may want to go with a -10 in the Easton's Brigade line.
Shelbe
Is the easton omen better or is this bat better? johnjay
This bat replaced the easton omen, it is going to have upgraded material
Sean
Which bat generates more power and is able to hit baseballs further, s1 or xl1 pdsvjmmm
I'd lean toward the XL1.
Linda
What is a better bat, s1 or xl1? shghjk
It depends on what type of hitter you are. If you're a strong hitter with naturally high swing speed, then the XL1 is better suited for you. If you are a contact hitter or you're looking to increase your swing speed, the S1 would be better suited for you.
TJ
is a stiff bat good and if so what is stiffer, b4, s1, xl1, cf5, or nanotec anderson er
The Anderson Nanotek will be the stiffest out of all the bats you mentioned. Stiff bats are often preferred by stronger, power hitters.
TJ
Which bat gets more power to hit balls further, s1 or xl1 rgth
It depends on what type of hitter you are. If you are a strong hitter with above average swing speed, the XL1 will be better for you. If you are a contact hitter looking to increase swing speed, the S1 will be better for you.
TJ
is it usssa aproved ant
Yes, this bat is going to be USSSA approved.
John
What is better power brigade s1 or demarini cf5 duck dude 8
Both are good models, the S1 is going to be more balanced than the CF5
Sean
Looking for a new bat for my 11 year old son 5.5" 130lbs. Had good results with easton V12 -13 Last year thinking of going to the S1. Easton fan, should i stay with s1 or go to xl seires? Trems
If he had good luck with the V12 then the XL would be the way to go.
Linda
My son plays USSSA and AAU baseball he swings the Easton Omen 30-20 Big Barrel. We are giong to play some park ball this year as well witch requires us to use 2 1/4 barrel. All we use is Easton Bats we have had great success with them.He is 10 years old 4'10" tall and his weight is 115 lbs. and a strong hitter witch of the Power Brigade bats would work best for him? Coach Hogue- Viper Baseball
If he's a strong hitter, the XL1 may be a better choice for him. The XL1 and S1 are most comparable to last year's Omen. The XL1 has a slight end-load feel which is often beneficial for strong, power hitters.
TJ
Do youth bats like this one have the usssa 1.15 stamp? BatKing99
Yes, this bat is going to have the BPF 1.15 stamp on it
Sean
Is this bat approved for Little League play for 2012? MomofBaseball Player
Yes, this bat is approved for little league in 2012
Sean
Will more people get this than the omen this year? Will this bat increase my chance of getting big hits? slugger
The S1 replaced the Omen. The S1 is going to be a little lighter. So if you want quicker bat speed the S1 is going to be the better choice.
Kara
Is it safe to say that this is the best youth baseball bat on the market? If not, what is? Tigers
It would be pretty safe to say it is one of the best out there.
Linda
Is the power brigade going to be the best bat on the market? Will it give an edge above the other players? baseball boY
I personally think this is going to be one of the top bats approved for 2012 play.
Kenny
Do they only make this in a -12? I'm looking for a -10. thatdad
At the moment that is the only size in the S1. The youth big barrel model, the SL11S110 is a -10, but not the youth small barrel.
Linda
I just found out my son can swing both 2 5/8" and 2 1/4" barrel bats. Is there a difference between the to sizes that would make a huge difference in pop? me agian
Depending on his age and size, would determine which one would best suit him. Example: If he is 12yrs old and a decent sized kid, most definitely go with the bigger barrel, as that is what is required in high school. If he is like 8 yrs old, and smaller, I'd go with the smaller barrel until he gains a little more strength. The small barrel allows you to go with a lighter weight.
Linda
My son has the Surge right now, how much will better is the S1. Will he notice the difference. b
The S1 will give him more pop and better results as a hitter. The S1 has a composite barrel which over time will be a better choice the an alloy barrel bat.
KG
we have narrowed it down to the demarani CF5 and the Easton S1, please help. 11yr old good hitter, needs a bat to help become "power hitter"!! confused11
Personally, I like the S1. Low MOI for bat speed, nice balance, great pop.
Linda
My son plays in COYBL. The rules require 1.15 BPF stamped on the bat (not on a sticker). Does this bat meet these reqirements? Eric
Yes, this bat has the imbedded stamp of the USSSA 1.15 BPF marking.
Linda
Having a hard time choosing between the S1 and Xl1. My son is 10 and has very quick bat speed with his his Demarini Voodoo 30/17. He has used 30/21 Big Barrell and can swing a Senior 30/20 Combat B3 (with slightly desreased bat speed) He wants more power but doesn't want to sacrifice bat speed. Dave
I would go with the XL1, it will give him more pop, it is going to be more end loaded but it should not slow down his swing too much
Sean
I narrowed my choices down to the Easton S1 and Louisville Slugger Exogrid2...what are your thoughts bfacekapsi
It will really depend on what kind of bat you are looking for. The S1 is a two piece all composite bat and will provide more flex than a one piece bat like the Exogrid. If the player doesn't have a lot of strength, I would recommend the S1.
Kara
My son is currently playing tee ball and is moving up to coach pitch in a month. Can he use this bat for both? I know a $200 bat is a little excess for a 6 year old, but he like baseball and swings pretty well. With that side will this bat give him more pop of the tee, and off a coach pitch? I'm willing to spend the money, if hitting the ball farther helps him build more confidence. Aloha State
I would be looking at coach pitch or junior big barrel bats. A good choice is the Easton XL3: JBB11X3 Junior Big Barrel. I would suggest a 25 inch, 15 oz.
Kara
In regards to my first question, our little league in Hawaii does not allow for a bigger barrel or coach pitch bat. All bats have to be in the 2-1/4" variety. He also is currently swinging a 27" -14 combat d2 tee ball bat, and has good control over the length. Are there any other suggestions you could make? I'm looking for something that he can take up to coach pitch. His d2 has seen better days, and I didn't want to buy him another tee ball bat with only a few games left. Also he is 47" tall and weighs about 51 pounds. Thanks Aloha State
Some of the more popular and better performing 2 1/4 inch youth bats on the market are the DeMarini Voodoo DXVDL, Easton S1 YB11S1, DeMarini CF5 DXCFL, and COMBAT B4 B4YB1. All of these are offered in a length to weight ratio that your son would be able to handle. Based on his height and weight, a 29 inch bat with a weight between 16 and 18 is recommended.
TJ
I am debating on between the S1 and the Anderson Neno. Which bat displays more pop if the bat speed of the swing was the same Jason
They are both high performing bats. It will come down to player preference on either two piece or one piece bat and also composite or alloy barrels.
John
What is the minimal Temperature this bat can be used at? Used the MV3 and Freak previously and had to baby it in early spring practices. Mark
We advise not using the S1 in anything below 45 degrees
Sean
Are there temperatures at which you aren't supposed to use the composite bats? WVPARENT
Most manufacturers recommend not to go below 55 degrees.
Linda
My son is 8 and is one of the smaller players. He has trouble with power but is a good contact hitter That is why I want to buy him an S1. He used a 27/17 easten surge last year. He is 52 inches tall and weighs 54 pounds. My question is what is your opinion about the S1 youth 2 1/4 barrel 28/16 vs the 2 5/8 barrel 27/17. What will give him more bat speed. Mvyacoach
the 2 1/4" is going to be 2oz. lighter for him, it will be easier for him to swing, but the 2 5/8 barrel is going to give him more coverage.
Ryan
Selecting the right Easton bat for my 9yr old son. He is 5ft y'all weighing 85 lbs with a compact powerful swing. Loves his rival big barrel for select but needs a bat for little league. Which Easton model do you recommend. S1, S2, XL? Undecided dad
I would recommend the XL3 if he is a power hitter. It is slightly end loaded but the drop is light enough he shouldn't have any problems with swing speed.
KB
Does this bat come in different barrel sizes? Kim
The S1 does come in a 2 5/8 inch barrel.
Kara
Is this bat legal in Pony League, and does it come in a bigger barrel? John
This bat is pony approved and it does come in a big barrel
John
My, son use a Omen drop 12 (30-18). We, had a demo day, and try the S1 drop 12 (30-18 / 31-19). They were to light for him. Is, there a lot of difference, between. The Omen and the S1. L. E.
The S1 is the replacement for the Omen, they have comparable construction, that differ mainly in cosmetics.
Shelbe
is this bat approved for junior little league. Jforce
I would check with a coach or league official. From our understanding you are unable to use composite barrel bats in little league juniors.
Allen
I am going to be 13 soon I'm 5 feet tall about 80lbs I'm contact hitter I've narrowed my choices to Easton s1,xL1 and Demarini CF5 what is the better bat and are all approved for junior little league? Jforce
All these are approved for this year. I would go with the Easton S1. It is going to have a very balanced swing weight and help improve your swing speed
Ryan
best bat for first time player 10 years old about 75 pounds. Easton S1, Combat 4, or DeMarini CF5 Steve
Easton S1 is going to be a great choice for him. This bat has a great balance and will help develop his swing speed
Ryan
my son is 13.he is 5"3 115lb what bat would be good fit? Tob
For his size a 31-32" bat will be a good size. Try using our bat coach which is at the top of the page.
KG
is this good for line drive hitter to be more powerful, and rite bat for a two hitter with good hand speed vroc
This is a great bat for a line drive hitter and it will give you some added power. This is designed as the speed series and a two hole hitter with good hand speed will love this bat.
Robb
Is this Bat Approved for 2012 Play in BabeRuth 13-15 division play? LB5355
No. All composite barrel bats must be BBCOR certified.
Kara
My son is 7 52" tall and 53 lbs. He used a aluminum Omaha 29" drop 13 last year. We are looking at the S1. Would you recommend giving up the 1" to stay with a weight of 16oz or keep the length of 29" and add 1oz in weight? Swing indicator had him 52-53 with 17oz and 54-55 with 16oz. aubiepolo
If he needs the swing speed then I would stick with the lower weight. Based on his height and weight I would also stick with the 29 inch 16 oz.
Kara
Does the Easton 29/17 S1 have the same barrel length as the 29/17 LNC1XL Omen? Thx Joseph
Yes, this bat is what replaced the omen. They do have the same barrel length
Ryan
Is this bat approved for the Cal Ripken League. I want to purchase it, but no one can tell me for sure if its ok for league. Adam
Yes, this bat would be approved for Cal Ripken play in 2012. This bat does not exceed a 2 1/4" barrel and does state on the bat that it meets the BPF 1.15.
John
Does this bat need to be broken in? JK
This bat has a composite barrel and will need a break in period between 100-200 batted balls. Turn the handle a quarter inch between hits to evenly break in the bat.
KG
My 9 year old son is currently using a -13 Easton Surge 29/16. Good contact hitter w/ good bat speed. Looking for more pop off the bat. Would a 29/17 Easton S1 be a good replacement? flash1
If you are looking for a youth bat that is pretty comparable to the Surge, I would suggest checking out the Easton S2 located here: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s2--yb11s2-youth/14533/. This is the bat Easton created to replace the Surge. This bat is going to be a good choice for contact hitters and is evenly balanced which will help keep the bat level through the swing zone. This bat also features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and help generate more power.
Jennifer
Is the S1 barrel the same as the Omen -12? Also, are there any other differences like balance and swing speed? GE
Both the S1 and the LNC1Xl have 2 1'4 inch barrels. The swing weights of the two will be very similar.
Shelbe
My son is currently swinging a 28/15 Rawlings plasma alloy bat. Looking for something comparable with a bit more pop. CoachDad
The S3 is going to be the most comparable of any of the new Easton series bats. The S3 is an alloy bat with good pop. It is available in a 28/15.
Kara
Which bat would you suggest for my 11 year old son who is 5' 3" and 110 lbs. He will be playing in the majors division the S1 or the CF4 ST? Dee
Both the DeMarini CF4 and the Easton S1 are going to good choices. The CF4 is going to be a double wall design that will help with the durability and strength to maximize power. The half and half system this bat features is going to help redistribute weight for optimal balance, which will allow the player to swing faster with less effort. When it comes to the East S1, the bat is going to be pretty balanced as well, which will help keep the bat balanced in the swing zone. It is also going to feature a lower moment of inertia (M.O.I.) which will create a lighter swing weight and generate more power. I don't think you could go wrong with either bat.
Jennifer
I know this is a new 2012 bat and it's approved for Little League 2012 but is it approved for any other years to come? ty
From all of the rule updates we have seen here at Justbats.com, this bat should be good to use for years to come.
Robb
My name is Will. I am pending on this bat or the XL1. I'm a power hitter, which one is better? will
These are both good bats. The XL1 does have a little end loaded feel and will be designed for power hitters like yourself.
Kris
This bat has replaced the Easton Omen: LNC1XL Youth, correct? And it is approximately $40 more. What difference are we getting for that $40? I am trying to directly compare these two bats to make a choice. 2G'smom
You are correct. The Easton S1 is the model that has replaced the Omen. The S1 and the Omen are going to be pretty similar, but the S1 is going to be slightly more balanced and a little more durable.
Jennifer
Is it legal for Pony League? Et
Yes, this bat will be legal for Pony Leagues. This bat does have the new USSSA stamp.
Kris
I am debating on whether to purchase the Easton Omen or the S1. Is there a reason I should spend the extra money on the S1? J
As you have noticed these two bats are identical. The thing is that the Easton Omen will no longer be produced and therefore is cheaper. But, overall these both are very quality bats.
Brad
I have a 6 year old. I need something with more pop, how would i go find what bat he needs? kyle
I'm not 100% sure what bat he's currently using to compare to. However, you can always sort the bats on the website by bestsellers to get an idea of what's most popular. This usually indicates what bats perform the best as well.
Tyler
I'm contemplating between the S1 and the S2. My son is 53in. 64 lbs, has a better than average swing speed. Can't decide between the S1 or S2, and a 30in. or 29in bat. He currently uses a 29 drop 13 Easton reflex. Suggestions? Alex
Based on his height and weight we suggest a 30" bat. We suggest the S1 because it is an ounce heavier and if he has good bat speed he should be able to handle the extra ounce.
KB
What's the hitting break in period? jowstah
We recommend taking 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss starting out at about 40% power and increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure you rotate the bat about a 1/4 of an inch in between each hit to ensure an even break-in all around the barrel of the bat and use balls similar to the ones that are used in games.
Jennifer
Is this bat a balance bat or end loaded? Thanks for your time. KMartin
Thank you for your question. The Easton S1: YB11S1 Youth is going to be a balanced bat. Easton's S Series is their balanced line and the XL Series is the end loaded line.
Nick
The YB11S1 is designed with a balanced weight to give the player a faster swing speed and more power.
Kris
My son is 8 years old. Weighs 72 lbs and is about 48 inches tall. Which size bat in the s1 would he need? connor
Based on your son's height and weight, I would suggest going with a 28" 16oz bat. If you need any further assistance in helping to find the right size of bat for your son, feel free to use our bat coach feature located at the top of the web page, or give us a call at 1-866-321-2287!

Is the S1 a doublewall bat? Jacob C
The S1 is a single wall bat

WHAT IS THE DIFFERANCE WITH THE S1,S2,S3 OTHER THAN PRICE?? RYAN ALLEN
Thanks for the question! The Easton S3 is a two piece full alloy design. The Easton S2 is a two piece hybrid design with a composite handle to decrease vibration and an alloy barrel. The Easton S1 is a two piece full composite design and may require a break in period for maximum performance.
Kole
Are two piece composites like the S1 any less durable then one piece composites? DC
The two piece bats will not be any less durable than one piece composite bats.
KB
My son is 7 yrs old and playing coach pitch. He is around 50 pounds and 46 inches tall. The league allows 2 5/8 inch barrels. My son needs to improve bat speed but has good hand eye coordination. What bat do you recommend? Triton 27 inch 15 OZ? Easton SL11S110 27" 17oz? Aloha and Thanks. lance
Since your son is so young and he needs to improve his bat speed, I would suggest going with the Triton 27" 15 oz. This bat is lighter than the S1 and will probably be easier for him to get around.
Jennifer
My son is 10 years old and is a lead-off hitter. He always makes contact with the ball. Is this a good bat for him? Or should he use the S2? Kuhner
The YB11S1 is Easton's top of the line bat. It is two-piece, all composite and is a great choice for a good contact hitter.
Tyler
My name is mark and I am 11 years old. I am contemplating between the s1,s2 or s3. I am a contact hitter. I am 5'6" and 110lbs. awesomeness
The S1, S2 and S3 are all very well balanced bats and designed with light swing weights. And they all are great options for a contact hitter. The S1 is their top of the line bat and is two piece, all composite. The S2 is two piece with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The S3 is one piece all alloy. The S1 has a ton of pop and would be a great option. Based on your size, a 31 inch model would be recommended.
Tyler
How does this bat compare to the Easton Convert? Which do you recommend for an 11yr old who plays travel ball? game time
Two-piece fully composite bats like the Easton S1 tend to have better pop. The Easton Convert is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Easton S1 will use top of the line composite material and would be a great choice for a competitive player.
Kara
My son used the Nike Aero CX2 Youth Baseball Bat and loved it but it is now illegal for Little League play. Does this bat compare to it? He used a 30/19 and makes good contact and hits for power. Lj0233
The Easton S1 is a great choice if he is used to playing with a Nike Aero CX2. The S1 is very similar in design and feel to the CX2, so your son should have no problem using this bat and should be very pleased with it's performance!
Jennifer
About how many hits does it take for the bat to have the maximum amount of pop? 3@ston
I would say that after about 150-200 hits, the YB11S1 will be good to go.
Tyler
I cant find any information on the new stamp rule taking effect next Little League season 2013. Would this bat be legal for 2013. What is this new rule all about? Is this a new composite rule or do alloy bats have to be stamp compliant? I'm also considering the anderson techzilla. would the 2011 techzilla be compliant? hurls
Little League will not be requiring a new stamp for their youth bats. The only upcoming rule change in regards to stamps, comes from USSSA. USSSA will be requiring a new BPF 1.15 stamp on their youth bats, but not until 2014. The YB11S1 will still be legal in Little League in 2013 and beyond. The YB11S1 also features the new USSSA stamp and will be legal in USSSA this year, next year and beyond. The Techzilla is also Little League approved.
Tyler
Can the bat be used in cold weather (less than 50 degrees F)? What happens if it is used? BT
It is recommended to not use any bat in temperatures lower than around 50 degrees. These colder temperatures tend to affect the balls, making them more dense, which increases the chances of damaging your bat.
Jennifer
My son is 9 he weighs 56 lbs and is 54 in tall. He is a good contact hitter but needs more power. Would the s1 be a good bat for him and what size would you recommend? hodgie
The Easton S1 is a balanced bat with a very light swing weight. This should help your son improve his swing speed to add a little more power. Based on his height and weight, a 29" or 30" model would be recommended. I wouldn't go too much heavier than whatever bat he is currently swinging.
Tyler
How many balls must be hit and is it ok to hit them off of a tee in order to properly break this bat in? Landon
We recommend talking between 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss starting at about 40% power and increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure you rotate the barrel between each hit and use the same balls you would normally use in a game.
Jennifer
I am the fourth batter and need a 32/19!!!! What should I get XL or Speed? Ryan
If you need a 32" 19 oz. bat, the only option is the Easton S1. The Easton XL1 Youth is not produced in that size.
Tyler
My boy is 10yrs old and is the clean up hitter. He's is 4' 11 and is around 115lbs. What lenth and is this the best bat for him? RAY
A 31 inch model would be recommended based on his height and weight. Unfortunately, there are dozens of high end bats on the market nowadays and there is not just one that will be the best for a particular player. The S1 is Easton's top of the line bat and is definitely a high performer.
Tyler
I got the Easton S1, and up to this point it has been very successful. It has a lot of pop and is light. However, I now notice that there is a weird rattling sound in the barrel. It is obvious something inside the bat has come loose. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Is it fixable? If its not, will it affect its performance? tatertot
Typically the rattle you are hearing is caused by a piece of composite material or glue that has broken lose inside of the bat. This is not something that will affect the life or performance of the bat. However, if you are worried about it, something that like should be covered under your manufacturer's warranty.
Jennifer
My son is 4 ft 5 in. Tall and uses a Omen 28/18 bat and swings it well. Thinking of getting a 29 in. bat. Is this a good bat or the Easton XL1? KK
The Easton S1 will have a more balanced swing weight, better for a player who needs some bat speed. The Easton XL1 will have an end loaded feel, better for a power hitter.
Kara
Can I assume the S2 (-13, aluminum barrel) has a lower MOI than the S1 (-12, composite)? madMIKE
If you are comparing bats of similar lengths, then yes, the S2 will be lighter and have a lower MOI.
Tyler
My son is 11 and uses a CF4 -11. I don't know if I should get an S1 or an XL1. He has amazing bat speed. logan
Thank you for your question. If your son is using the CF4, then I would recommend the Easton XL1. The XL1 will have a similar balance to the CF4 and have the same long barrel design.
Nick
Are the S1 and Omen the same and is this bat legal in Pony Baseball? Cvan
The Easton S1 was made to replace the Easton Omen. The only difference is the S1 will have a slightly lighter swing weight. Both are legal for Pony ball.
Tyler
Is this bat considered the 2013 model? I ordered an Omen and the vendor said the 2013 replacement, an S1, would be sent instead. Thank you. TJ
The Easton S1 is the replacement for the Easton Omen and considered the 2012 model.
Kara
My son loves this bat. He has been using it for about 3 months and the paint is already chipping off. Is this a common problem with this bat? Should I return the bat? 9bryson
I can tell you from years of experience that paint chips can be more common that you think. This is something that will not effect the performance of the bat. However, you can get it replaced through Easton if you are concerned about the bat's appearance. Their phone number is 1-888-259-1297.
Tyler
Is this Dixie Youth approved? Does it have the Dixie Youth stamp? BamaDad
The Easton S1 YB11S1 is Dixie approved and will feature the required stamp on the taper. For more information please click the provided link. http://youth.dixie.org/Main_Navigation/Rules/rules_and_regulations.htm
Kris
My son just turned 9. He is 54 inches tall, and weighs 72 pounds. He"s a contact hitter, and the 29/19 Easton Synergy LZN2 he currently uses seems to be slightly too heavy for him, so we"re looking for a 30in -12 or -13. In the -13s, the Demarini Voodoo is top of the heap for us. We"re also considering the Easton S1 in a -12. I have two questions: (1) because the S1 has a low MOI and the Voodoo is slightly end-loaded will an S1 30/18 have a comparable swing weight to a Voodoo 30/17? (2) How does the S1 compare to the LSS6XL and LZN2 in terms of MOI and performance? will
No, the Easton S1 is balanced and designed to help increase bat speed. Compared to the S1, the DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded and may lag through the hitting zone if your son is not strong enough to generate his own bat speed.
Derek H.
Which bat do you think would better fit me? I'm 5' 6" - 5' 7". An Easton S1 or a DeMarini CF5? Trey
The Easton S1: YB11S1 Youth and the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFL are both very similar balanced bats. In either bat, I would recommend either a 31" or 32".
Nick D
Does the S1 lose pop when it gets chipped? Grant
The Easton S1 will not lose its pop if the paint is chipped.
Kara
He hit an inside ball just below the rubbercxn and it looks like a hair line fracturing of the bat. Does this mean it will break into half if he hits it hard or is it chipped paint? Marshall's Mom
It's hard to say without seeing the bat, but if you think your bat may be defective, you need to contact Easton at 1-888-259-1297. They should be able to replace your bat if it's still under warranty.
Tyler
Does this bat have the same sweet spot as the XL1? Mattyfire
The Easton S1 is going to be more of a well balanced design more designed for a contact hitter. The Easton XL1 model is going to be more designed for the power hitter. The XL1 will have a larger sweet spot but will also have a slight end loaded feel.
John
Is this bat legal for little league in 2013? jaxon
Yes. The Easton S1 will be approved for Little League in 2013.
Tyler
Why is this a good bat? poop
The Easton S1 YB11S1 is a great bat because it is manufactured with a 100% composite design which will give the player a more balanced feel and provide the best pop/power in a bat. This bat is one of the best youth bats today.
Kris
My son is 8, 4'4" and about 80 lbs. He has good bat speed, but is mostly a gap to gap line drive hitter. He is currently using a 2010 28' DeMarini Voodoo. I am considering a 29' Easton S1: YB11S1 for him because I"ve read that it is a well balance bat, which would be suitable for a contact line drive hitter. Is that correct, and/or is there another bat we should consider? Somebody also told be the DeMarini CF5 would be another good option. Any advice? Ryan
The Easton S1 is in fact a well balanced bat that would be great for contact hitters. The DeMarini CF5 is also be a well balanced bat that is good for contact hitters. Both are similar bats and are top of the line models for each manufacturer and would be great options to consider.
Jennifer
I don't see the S1 listed on the Little League's website under "Licensed Composite Bats". Where can I find a waiver to show umpires? Or is there one? Thanks! Sean
The Easton S1 is on the Little League Licensed Bat List. The link to this list is http://www.littleleague.org/learn/equipment/licensedcompositebats.htm.
Nick K.
Even though it is not a big barrel,is it legal for Junior League? Jack
The Easton S1 is not legal in Junior League. All composite barrel bats must be BBCOR certified.
Kara
Does this bat come stamped? marcella
Yes the Easton S1: YB11S1 has the USSSA BPF1.15 stamp.
Tom
My son is 8 years old, he weighs about 68 pounds but is only 4'1". What size should we buy for him? Hunter's Mom
The suggested length for a player your son's size would be a 28" 16 oz. or a 29" 17 oz. in the Easton S1.
Tom
What bat is better the Easton S1 or the DeMarini CF4 for little league? noah
The DeMarini CF4 is a discontinued model but we currently carry the 2012 and 2013 DeMarini CF5 for Little League play. The Easton S1 and the DeMarini CF5 are both great two-piece fully composite bats. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Hi i am 4 foot 10 and was looking into this bat. what size do you think i should get i am also am going to use this next year so do you think i should get a 30 inch or 31 inch. Also just so i know is this bat bbcor approved? Thanks MagikMONSTER21
Based on your height, a 30" model would be recommended now, but the S1 has a light swing weight and if you want a bat you can use next year as well, the 31" model would be a great choice. It is not BBCOR approved. Only Adult bats can be BBCOR approved.
Tyler
I was just wondering what level of baseball do you have to have a BBCOR approved bat? Thanks. lester2131
BBCOR is the standard certification for high school and collegiate play.
Nick K.
When will the 31" be in? Be-ouch
We expect the 31 inch Easton S1 to arrive the first week of July 2012.
Kara
My son's Easton YB11S1 makes a wired sound when he hits the ball. It sounds like the ball is dead or soft. Is this normal? Everyone who hears it says the bat is dead. Once the bat is broken end what type of sound should it make? Jack
It's hard to describe a sound, but there is an audio link on the product page of our website (top right side of main product image). http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s1--yb11s1-youth/14430/ If you feel your bat is dead or defective, it will be eligible for a warranty replacement through Easton. Their phone number is 1-888-259-1297.
Tyler
My son does a ton of practice with a pitching machine & machine balls. Does this make a difference in selecting an S1, S2 , or S3. What about break in with machine balls? Are these BBCOR bats ( with less pop ) ? Newt
As long as the pitching machine uses real baseballs (as he would use in a game), then it's completely safe to use this bat in the cages. If the pitching machine uses those dimpled yellow balls, then it is recommend to use a separate bat just for cage work as those type of balls can be very dense and cause damage to any type of bat. Only the S1 requires a break-in period as it has a composite barrel. The S2 and S3 have alloy hitting surfaces and do not require a break-in period. These are Youth bats. Only Adult bats are eligible for BBCOR certification.
Tyler
I know you can't use the composite bats with the yellow dimpled balls in batting machines. But what about those hitting sticks or the Hurricane Training aid from SKLZ. My son has the hurricane and loves hitting off of it when I am not around to throw. Could he still do it with this bat? Ryan A
Yes, it would be fine to use this bat with those training aides. It's just not recommend to use it in the cages with those yellow dimpled balls, as they are known to be very dense. Hitting sticks or the Hurricane trainer don't have the same density and are fine to use.
Tyler
My son is about 4'10" and weighs about 75 lbs. should I get the 30" bat or 31" bat? He is 11 years old G- Mac
Based on general size charts, a 30" bat is recommended for a player of your son's age, height and weight.
Tyler
If I'm 5 foot 4 and 110 lbs would you recommend the Speed Series or XL Series? j-mac
If you are a power hitter we recommend the XL series as they are slightly end loaded. If you need quicker bat speed we recommend the Speed Series.
Kara
Will this bat be eligible for 2013 and are you coming out with anything new for 2013? JOB
Yes the Easton S1: YB11S1 will be legal for use in 2013. Easton will be releasing their new line of bats in October or November.
Tom
Is the Easton S1 a good bat for a lead off hitter that's a mixture of a contact hitter with a pretty good amount of power? Dan
Yes, the Easton S1 would be a great choice.
Nick
Which bat hits better for a 10 year old kid? Big barrel (2 5/8, drop 10) or this one (2 1/4, drop 12)? Meat
The weight really depends on the strength of the player. For a player who needs bat speed and is not very strong the S1: YB11S1 Youth would be the best option.
Kara
Is the Easton S1 the best bat for a singles hitter? maxw
The Easton S1 is a two-piece bat, perfect for a singles hitter.
Kara
Which bat has more pop, the Easton S1: YB11S1 or the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL? Brian
The pop on both bats will be very comparable. The main difference is that the Easton S1 is fully composite and the DeMarini Voodoo has a composite handle and aluminum barrel. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Is the S1 fully composite? max
Yes the Easton S1 is a fully composite bat.
Tom
Does this come in 2 5/8? If not, what would be comparable, in a 29/17? mike
The Easton S1: SL11S110 is offered in a 2 5/8" barrel but it has a -10 length to weight ratio. The only 2 5/8" barrels we have in stock are the Louisville Slugger TPX Triton II and the Louisville Slugger TPX Z-1000.
Tom
What does a two-piece bat mean? maxw
A two-piece bat is a bat in which the barrel and handle are made separately and later bonded together.
Tyler
What is the major difference between the S1 and S3 bats? My son is 10 going on 11 and is a line drive hitter 95lbs 4'10". E
The Easton S1 is a two-piece composite bat and the Easton S3 is a one-piece all alloy bat. The Easton S1 would be best suited for a line drive hitter.
Kara
Is this bat comparable to the Easton LGS1XL Surge XXL Youth Baseball Bat (-13) by Easton? Is this just a newer version? Marcus
The Easton S1 replaced the Easton Omen. The Easton Surge was replaced by the Easton S2. Here is a link to take a look at the Easton S2. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s2--yb11s2-youth/14533/
Tom
If I am a leadoff hitter with good contact and power and my previous youth Surge broke in half would this be a good replacement? jake1
The Easton S1 would be a great option for you. If you liked the Easton Surge then you could consider using the Easton S2 because it has a composite handle and an aluminum barrel like the Surge does.
Tom
Is this bat stamped 2011 later? I see approved for play language on there, but Dixie Youth requires that be also stamped 2011 or later. Kris
Yes. This bat was produced during the 2011-2012 years. It will have the year stamped on the bat.
Tyler
Does the Easton S1 come in 31" 19oz? paul
The Easton S1: YB11S1 Youth bat is produced in a 31" 19 oz model. However, we do not have it in stock. We will not be getting more S1 bats in this size until mid-November, when Easton releases their 2013 line.
Tyler
Since it says it has a very low MOI what is the difference in the swing of this bat and a different bat of the same weight? jake 2
Low MOI means that the weight is very evenly distributed throughout the Easton S1 making it swing lighter than some other bats where the weight is more distributed towards the end of the bat. This helps to increase bat speed.
Tom
My son is 11 years old and will turn 12 in January. He is 5'7" and weighs 125 lbs. He's the biggest kid on his summer all star team and has good power (led team in HRs). He used an S1 this past summer, 31 inches, 19 ounces, but he needs a new, heavier bat. Two questions: (1) what size and weight bat do you recommend (I was thinking a 32 inch, 21 ounce); and (2) what type of bat shoud we get (and why) among the Easton S2 and S3, and the Easton XL1, XL2 and XL3? JE
Based on his height, weight, and previous bat size, a 32" bat with a weight of 21 or 22 ounces is recommended. The XL1 is a great option for a power hitter and is most similar to the S1 he's been using. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
My son is 11 and ready to play competitive AAU baseball in Fall and next Spring. He is 4'11' and weighs 90 lbs. What size bat should I get him that he can use now and through next year? He is a contact hitter with a quick swing. Looking at Easton S1 or Demarini CF5. Which one is the better choice? dad in pa
Based on his age, height and weight, a 30" bat with a weight between 18 and 20 ounces. Both the Easton S1 and DeMarini CF5 are top of the line bats with similar pop and durability. Both are evenly balanced, but I would say the S1 has just a slightly lighter swing weight.
Tyler
Is the Easton S1 better than the COMbat B4? anthony
Both the Easton S1 and the COMBAT B4 are excellent composite bats. However, the Easton S1 will have more flex because it is a two-piece bat.
Kara
What is better the DeMarini CF5 or Easton S1? chris
The DeMarini CF5 and the Easton S1 are two of the highest performing two-piece fully composite bats on the market. Both bats use some of the best composite materials available.
Tom
Which power brigade is most like the bss11 easton stealth? jacob
The Easton S1 is most comparable to the Easton Stealth as it is also a two-piece composite bat with similar feel and performance.
Tyler
What are the differences between the S1 and the LSS1? jacob
The Easton S1 is a two-piece composite just like the LSS1. It does use newer technology for a more balanced bat, for quicker bat speed. The Easton S1 was the replacement of the Easton Omen, which replaced the LSS1.
Kara
is it okay to hit rubber machine pitched balls with this bat. will it cause damage? Cole
Those rubber dimpled pitching machine balls are known to be very dense and can decrease the lifespan of any bat. It's always recommended you use real baseballs in the cages, or a back-up bat if real baseballs are not an option.
Tyler
If there is a tiny lump in the bat about 2 cm big will it affect bat performance? ricky baccare
That's difficult to say without being able to see what you are referring to. I recommend calling our customer service team at 1-866-321-2287.
Damon
is this bat little league approved? trey202
Yes. The Easton S1: YB11S1 is Little League approved.
Tyler
How much is the shipping to this bat for the area code 86409? trey202
We offer free shipping every day of the year to all locations within the United States.
Tyler
what is the actual bpf of the s1? nick
The Easton S1: YB11S1 Youth bat has a BPF of 1.15. It also has the new USSSA stamp on the barrel.
Tyler
My son's swing speed is average. He's 10, and is 4'11, and weighs 73 lbs. After reading up on bats, I found that the Speed Series from Easton might help a kid with average swing speed. Is this true, or would you recommend a different bat, like the CF5 from DeMarini? Also, would you recommend aluminum or composite - we live in a colder weather climate where temps stay below 60 until we get to June. Thanks! Todd
The Easton S1 is a very balanced bat, perfect for a player who needs to increase their bat speed. A composite bat can be used above 45 degrees.
Kara
What bat would you recommend for an 8-year-old that is 4'7 and 82 pounds? He is currently using the S2 29/16 youth bat, but will be allowed to use a senior league bat this fall. He generates plenty of bat speed with the S2, but I am concerned about the additional weight of the -10 S2 SL model. hawk07
The Easton S2 Senior League model is a very balanced bat. Since he does have good bat speed, the Easton S2 should work just fine for him.
Kara
Ok i just bought thus bat for my son. We dud about 300 swings of soft toss and then about another 100 regular swings. Why does this bat sound dead. Plus the ball does not jump off thebat? Does it take time to break in or did I get a dead bat? baseball dad
We would be unable to diagnose any problem with your bat without being able to see it, hear it, analyze it, etc. Your bat is covered under a full warranty though Easton though. If you give them a call at 1-888-259-1297, they will be able to diagnose any problems with your bat.
Tyler
Is this bat approved for Little League for the 2013 season? Jackson's mom
As of today, the Easton S1 is approved for Little League for 2013.
Kara
What is the regular price for this bat at baseball stores? PML
Prices vary depending on the store, but the original MSRP was $199.99.
Tyler
Will the new line of Easton bats be the same as the speed series and be certified for little league? PML
Easton will be releasing their new line of Speed and XL bats in mid-November. They will all be Little League approved.
Tyler
Do you have to Break in this bat? If so how? Thx Mike
Yes. The Easton S1 is a composite bat that benefits from a break-in period. We recommend talking between 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss starting at about 40% power and increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure you rotate the barrel between each hit and use the same balls you would normally use in a game.
Tyler
What does the 11 stand for in YB11S1? MATT
The 11 in the Easton S1: YB11S1 is just part of the model number that Easton created.
Nick
My son is 10 years old, 4 ft 8 inches tall, and weights 93 pounds. What size in an Easton S1 would you recommend? Thanks. 11u
Using the Bat Coach feature on justbats.com I was able to determine that your son should be using a 30" Easton S1: YB11S1 Youth. Depending on his ability and strength would help you determine the weight.
Brandon
My son likes the feel of his 28/16 LSS6XL but has outgrown it. How does the S1 compare? Is there another bat that has a balance comparable to the LSS6XL at 29 or 30 inches? Thanks. Shepard
The S1 will be comparable in performance and will be more balanced than the LSS6XL.
Kara
I'm looking for something comparable to the Oman in a 17oz 29" length. What do you recommend? Jim
The Easton S1: YB11S1 replaced the Omen and would be the top recommendation.
Tyler
There is a bat for sale on ebay that is a S1 2013. Is that out yet? Ted
Easton's 2013 bats won't be released until November 15th.
Tyler
My son is 4'8" about 65 lbs. and is currently using an Anderson Nanotek 28/17 which seems to be too light for him now. His swing is fast and I am trying to decide if I should go with the YB11S1 or the YB11XL1. Your thoughts? Oscar
If he has above average swing speed, the XL1 would be recommended as it is a little more endloaded and players with faster swings can generate more power with an endloaded bat.
Tyler
What sizes do the Easton S1 bat comes in? Looking for a big barrel 30in 17oz. Wheels
Unfortunately, there are no big barrel bats available in the size you are looking for. The Easton S1 big barrel model is only produced in a -10 length to weight ratio.
Tyler
Are the new 2013 Easton S1 models out? g
The 2013 Easton S1: YB13S1 are available to pre-book on the website. They will be shipped out on November 14th.
Aubrey
Is the 2013 brigade lineup going to feature -10 big barrel bats similar to the S1 and XL1? I am currently looking to purchase a -10 big barrell in the 30/20 size for my younger son. I was extremely impressed with the S1 that my older son hit with this summer and would like the same or similar bat. Lots of pop and my younger son has even more bat speed than the elder. Should I buy the 2012 model S1 if I can find it or wait until the 2013 comes out? Coach Brian
Yes. Easton will be releasing 2013 models of the Easton S1 and XL1. We currently have the 30" 20oz. 2013 Easton S1's available for Pre Book orders. Here is a link to view those. http://www.justbats.com/product/--pre-book---2013-easton-s1--sl13s110-senior-league/15971/
Tom
What will be difference between is the yb11s1 than the YB13S1? Jun
The 2013 Easton S1: YB13S1 features a new composite material in the handle designed to do a better job of eliminating sting. This and a different paint scheme are the major differences.
Tyler
Hello, my son is the leadoff hitter, swings well, but is not a big strong kid (10yo/55"/55lbs) Line drives/hard grounders up the middle mostly. He has an Easton 28/18 Cyclone and I'd like to get him a better bat. What size/type Easton do you recommend? Joe
We would recommend the Easton S Series for your son. They are designed to be very balanced which results in an increase in bat control. That is very beneficial for a lead off hitter. Take a look at the Easton S1, S2, or S3.
Tom
What temperature would you not recommend to use this bat in? b
It is recommended that you limit your bats use when it's colder than 55 degrees outside. The temperature effects the balls, not the bat and there is a higher number of damaged bats reported when the temperature is under 55 degrees.
