Pros: Really cool bat that's well balanced. It's light which means better control and higher bat speed. The ball really seems to jump off the bat's oversized sweet spot. Tremendous value for the money...every bit as good a bats costing twice as much.

Cons: Your window replacement guy is gonna love you.

Pros: My son has used the 27" for his 6 and 7 year old machine pitch seasons. The bat has held up really well and he swings it with confidence. A couple kids on his team that were struggling with their bats switched to it mainly due to its weight and balance. I saw a notable increase in contact and confidence as well. It's amazing the difference a bat can make for a kids enjoyment of the game when they hit the ball regularly. For the price, it's a fantastic bat.

Pros: Excellent, well balanced, great pop and solid design. Very impressed with the overall performance and helped increase my sons hand speed and angle through the zone. I was hesitate of the affordable price assuming it wouldn't provide the quality of the bats two and three times higher in price. My son is 11 and we purchased the 30" 17 oz. He is getting through the zone quicker and making solid contact every time. the price is unbelievable and got free shipping. I ordered it on a Tuesday and received it on Thursday. Very impressed with the bat, the price and most of all the service. I would recommend this bat and Just Bats to anyone.

Cons: No complaints, Very satisfied customer that will definitely be a returning customer.

Pros: It's all about bat speed in the little league. My boy was swinging slow through the zone with his Easton -10 Cyclone. Once he started swinging the -13 Reflex, he quickly realized how much faster his bat speed was and his confidence took off! Now, he jumps on any pitch that is in the zone and drives completely through the ball with very quick hands. Put this bat in his hands and spend some time doing some soft toss practice. Watch him come alive with confidence as his hand-eye coordination improves due to the quick bat speed of the Easton, I highly recommend it!

Cons: Wish we had bought one sooner!

Pros: Light. Good pop. I ordered this bat for my son because the previous bat we ordered was just to heavy. He is 8 yrs. old and about 55 lbs. we ordered him the 28/15. His other bat is 29/17 (different brand). He loved the Reflex right away. His first game with it he had a triple, 2 doubles, and a single. Altogether he has had 5 games so far with the new bat and he averages 3 hits a game.(before 1 maybe 2).

Cons: Sometimes a little sting but not to bad.

Pros: Honestly, I have a little older version of the Easton Reflex bat. When you hit it on the sweet spot, it will send the ball deep. I almost sent some balls out. Pretty good bat.

Cons: Like I said, I have another Reflex and it stings your hands pretty bad. If you want a light bat like this, I'd go with the S2 or the S3, even the Team Marucci bat.

Easton Reflex Bat: LX73 Sam Shulman player

Pros: The bat is fast and a great contact bat light and easy to pull your hands around on the barrel. I have a mako xl and i use this one because it has better contact.

Cons: The bat has a small sweet spot and if you don't hit it you get nasty vibration. The grip on the bat is bad so you need to get bat tape the bat wears down easily but is a great contact bat. If you hit the ball in the sweet spot you have a lot of pop but anywhere else it dosent go very far

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Reflex Youth Baseball Bat: LX73? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does this bat compare to the Easton LX70? What is the difference? Is it worth the extra money? Robert
The biggest difference is going to be the alloy that is used in the barrel of the bat. The LX73 is going to use a newer technology and is going to be a hotter bat. The LX73 will also be a more durable bat.
Todd
how does this bat compare to the more expensive.bats paps
The Reflex doesn't use as high of quality alloy as some of it's conterparts. It is still a great performing bat for the price.
K.B.
Is there any difference between the Easton LX71 and Easton LX73 other than design. Rachael
No, they are made of the same 7050 Alloy and both are 1 piece in design. Graphics is all that really changed.
Linda
how does this compare to the demarini distance? sopapia
Both bats will display similar pop but I would give the Reflex an advantage when it comes to durability.
TJ
Is this bat stamped with the usssa stamp? Jess
The 2012 Easton Reflex does not feature the USSSA stamp, but is approve for youth USSSA games.
Brad
How does this bat compare with the LS Omaha TPX -13? The TPX is $99.99 Kevinm
The LX73 and YB126 will be really similar, due to their construction being so similar. For any bat suggestion you can contact our customer service at 1-866-321-2287
Shelbe
How Heavy is this bat? Would it be suitable for my 6 year old son? Chuy
This model would have a -13 length to weight ratio. Easton has designed this bat to be very well balanced giving it a lighter swing weight. This would work great for a player of all ages.
John
Does it have the 2012 USSSA stamp? Tom
No. This bat does not have the new USSSA stamp. USSSA will not require this new stamp on youth small barrel bats until 2013
Tyler
This particular bat features the old USSSA stamp, but not the new one. The old stamp is being grandfathered in for the 2012 season, and this bat is legal for use in 2012.
Jennifer
Does this bat have "BPF 1.15" stamped on it? Jen
The Easton Reflex will state on the barrel that it is USSSA BPF 1.15. It will not have the "thumbprint" stamp that the big barrels are requiring.
John
Just bought this for my 7 year old. Can he hit real baseballs with this bat? 20 feet away, easy pitches for batting practice. jmac
Yes. Youth baseball bats like this one, are designed to be used with real baseballs.
Tyler
Sizing for a 10 year old, travel LL. He is about 4 foot 4 and 90 pounds. Looking at 30 in 17 oz. Does that sound right? Lori L
Based on his height and weight, he's right on the edge between a 29 and 30 inch model. I think if you go with a 30 inch 17 ounce model, he'll be very successful with that size.
Tyler
Looking to buy a bat for my granddaughter. This is her first year playing T-ball, and is 9 yrs old. What bat do you recommend and what size & weight? Vence
For a 9 year old playing tee ball, I would recommend a bat around 29 inches with a weight between 16 and 18 ounces.
Tyler
Is the bat approved for Little League use? Ndirish
The 2012 Easton Reflex is approved for play in Little League.
Kara
I wanted to get my son this bat but his old bat is a 31" 20 oz. Will this weight difference effect him? david
If your son needs quicker bat speed, the 31" 18 oz will be fine. If he has quite a bit of power, we recommend not to decrease in weight.
Kara
Can you tell me the difference between this model and the Easton "Surge"? Shawn
The 2012 Easton Reflex is a one piece all aluminum bat. The Easton Surge is a two piece, composite handle and aluminum barrel bat. Both will be similar in performance, but the Surge will have a little more flex to it when it is swung, to help contact type hitters get the bat head through the zone.
Nick
My son is 10, but he's big for his age. (5'1" and 128 lbs). He has a quick bat now and would like to keep his bat speed. What size bat would you recommend not slow his bat down too much? Preston
The suggested length for a player your sons size would be a 31" bat.
Tom
My son is turning 10 and is a stocky kid, about 5" and 113 lbs. He is an average hitter. Would a 30" 17 oz. be a good bat? Doug
Given his size and weight you may want to consider going up to a 31" bat. Here is a link to our sizing chart. http://www.justbats.com/bat-resource-guide/selecting-a-baseballbat/
Damon
I'm 13 and play in travel ball would this be a good bat for it? Tommy
The Easton Reflex might be a little light for a 13 year old player. We suggest the Easton XL1: YB11X1.
Kara
My kid is 9 yrs old 4'8" and 65 lbs. What size bat would be ideal for him? He's now using a 28" 15oz Reflex. Should he size up? Thanks. pete
We recommend a 29" 16 oz. Easton Reflex.
Kara
My son is turning 7 yrs old (49" tall 55lbs) and playing coach pitch this year. He generally uses a ligher bat for more control. Would you recommend the Easton Reflex in 27"-14oz? Will this bat have more pop than a big barrel bat? Thanks. Pete
Given his height and weight we would recommend a 28-29" model. This is a balanced bat for bat control but will not have more pop than a big barrel.
Damon
My son is 9 years old, weighs 64 lbs. and 4'4" in height. What size bat should I get him? Thank you! Zeke
Using the Bat Coach Feature on justbats.com I was able to see that your son should be swinging a bat that is 28 inches in length. The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat does come in a 28" 15oz. model that would be perfect for his size.
Brandon
my son is 11 years old weighs 115 lbs and is 5'1" tall what size bat is recommended? Jason
Based on his height and weight, a 31" model of the Easton Reflex: LX73 is recommended.
Tyler
My son is on the small side. He is 8, but will likely be playing 10U. He has been using a teeball bat 13oz thus far. We will be hitting the batting cages in January, what do you suggest under $100? Nate
The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth is a great bat for 69.99. It has great pop, and good durability.
Noah
I'm wondering what the benefit is to ordering the bat pack that includes 2 separate bats for my 7 year old son. He is 50" and about 60 lbs. If I go this route should I order the same length with the distinction being solely the weight of each bat? Richard
The most important benefit of the JustBats.com Bat Packs in the better price. You could get two bats that are very similar to use in the same season or you could get a bat that he is ready for immediately and a bat he will soon grow in to.
Jeff
My son is 4'6 and weighs about 70 lbs. with a pretty good swing. 8 yrs old. Looking at the bat pack with the Easton Reflex and Rawlings Plasma. How would size those up? Is 30/17 or 29/16 the route to go on the Reflex? E Bas
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 29' 16 oz Easton Reflex: LX73. Both the Reflex and the Plasma will be similar in performance and feel.
Kara
Concerned about a few of the reviews that talk about stinging the hands. Is it due to the thinner handle? How much thinner is the handle than a comparable bat? daveh
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat has a handle that is about .03" to .06" thinner than average. This is a one-piece alloy bat, and typically, one-piece bats like the Reflex have a little more sting and vibration compared to two-piece bats. It's not necessarily correlated with the thinner handle.
Tyler
My son is 5 years old. 49 inches. 56 pounds. He's tall for his age. All the charts I'm looking at says he should either have a 28 or 29 inch bat. Is this suitable for a 5 year old?? Michelle
I would recommend a 28" model for a 5 year old of that size. The Easton Reflex: LX73 would be a great choice.
Tyler
Is this bat approved for play in the Cal Ripken 2013 season? Julie7476
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth is legal for the Cal Ripken 2013 season.
Kara
My son turning 5 in March and is in his second season of coach pitch ball. He's about 42 in. tall and weighs 40.5 lbs. He's got good bat speed. Do you think a 27 in. bat is too big? Scott
Based on his height and weight, your son could go up to a 27" model. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
My son will be 8 in April and is about 54 inches and 70+ pounds (tall for his age). He swung a 28" bat with ease last season. I was thinking of a 29" this year for the Minors in Little League. Does that sound right, or should I stick with the 28"? Kevin
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 29" model in the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
My son is turning 7, 51" and 52 lbs, thin but very athletic. Is this a good bat for him or is it too light? If yes, which would be a better choice: the 28"/15oz. or 29"/16oz.? David
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat would be a good choice for a 7 year old. Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 28" 15 oz. model.
Aubrey
My son is 7.5 years old, 50" and 55 lbs. He is strong for his age and has a pretty good swing. This is his 3rd baseball season. What size bat do you recommend? Dad
Given your son's size, I recommend going with the 29" model of the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat.
Marcus
My son is 7 years old, 48" and 47 lbs. He is skinny and little. This is his first season on Rookies (7-8) with machine pitching. What size bat do you recommend? yiyi@2
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 27" model in the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/

Yes; the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat will be approved for Pony League play. You can find Pony League bat rules at: http://www.thebaseballbat.com/2012-bat-rules.html. You can also check with you local organization.
Robert
My son is trying out for middle school team with possibility of playing LL. He's 5'2" and weighs about 150 lbs. Looking for something that would be a great fit for both. Jay
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth will be too light for his height and weight. We recommend a 32" 22 oz. 2013 Easton XL1: YB13X1 Youth.
Kara
My son is 10 years old, weighs 73 pounds, and is 56 inches tall. What size bat do you suggest? rock

My son is 4'6" and 65 pounds. He is 8 years old and turning 9 in July. I'm thinking the 29 inch 16 oz. reflex would be the right size? frickey

My son is 11 years old weighs about 89 pounds and about 5''1' or 5''2'. He is playing major's in the Babe Ruth league. Also, he really like the light weight bats. What size and weight bat do you recommend? Toni
With the information you gave me, I would suggest 30" bat. Here are a couple of bats I would recommend. The first is the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha: YB136 Youth and the other is the 2013 Miken RZR YRZR12 Youth. Both are very easy swinging bats that would fit your son perfectly.
Chad M.
My son is 8 years old, 4 ft and weights 54lbs. Would the 27" or 28" bat be better for him? Also what is the differance between the Reflex LX73 and the 2013 Reflex YB13RX. AL
I would recommend the 27" Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat. As for the difference, the 2013 Reflex will be the newer model and feature an extended barrel.
Kevin
My son is 6.5 years old, 51" tall, and 63 pounds. Would the 30" 17 oz. be the correct bat for him? Little League Dad
He should be using the Easton Reflex in a 28" or a 29" tops.
Noah
My son is 49 inches and weighs 49 lbs. He is a very small framed kid. What size and weight bat would you recommend? jasonmhb
A 28" bat length is recommended for his size in the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat.
Brandon
My son 10 years old, about 4' 7" and weighs about 65 lbs. Hit with a Easton Rampage 29" 16.5oz last year. Thinking about a 30/17 Reflex this year. Which Reflex would you recommend LX73 or 2013 model? And what size? Chris
I always recommend closeout models as they typically offer the same performance as newer models but sell at a lower price. Based on his size, and previous bat, a 30" 17 oz. model of the Easton Reflex: LX73 is recommended.
Tyler
Is this bat legal for Babe Ruth? Isaac
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth is legal in Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth 13-15 division.
Kara
My son is 7, almost 8 years old. He is 50" tall and weighs 66 lbs. Can you recommend a bat size? I'd like one that he could also use next year too. Thanks! Jill
Given his size, I would suggest going with the 29" 16 oz. Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat.
Marcus
My grandson is almost 7 years old. I am looking for a bat for to be used with a pitching machine. He is 46" tall and weighs around 50 lbs. He has a 28" bat that he is trying to use, however it seems to be too long for him. He does much better with his t-ball bat from last year. What would you suggest? peyton
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 29" model in a youth bat like the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
What's the difference between the 2011 Reflex to the 2012 Reflex? ijay
There were no major changes to the Reflex from 2011 to 2012. The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth just has a different color/paint scheme.
Tyler
Is this bat good for a 9 year old starting kid pitch this year? Dad
Yes, the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat would be a fine option. The -13 size will make the bat have a light swing weight. It will feature a one-piece all alloy design. It will require no period of break-in.
Brandon
The Easton Typhoon and Reflex seem very similar but the Typhoon is made of 7046 aircraft alloy instead of 7050 aircraft alloy. What is the difference in these alloys? Ranger Fan
The 7050 aircraft alloy used in the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth is a higher grade alloy. It will be more durable and higher performing.
Kara
Is this bat appropriate for an 8-year-old girl's slow pitch softball league? jim
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat is a baseball model and would not be a good option for play in a softball league.
Mac

The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth has a 2 1/4" barrel diameter with average size barrel length.
Frank
Is it legal for Little League in 2013 and 2014? I heard of rule changes and I want to get a bat. My 7, soon to be 8 year old, can use for a couple of years. Tony

Kara
I am curious of the different Easton Reflex designations of LX70, LX71, LX73, and even LX40? Also, does the 2013 model of the Reflex have various designations ? Thanks a lot! Philip
Nothing has changed between the Easton Reflex LX70, Easton Reflex LX71 and Easton Reflex LX73. All feature the same design, materials and balance. The only changes through the past 3 years has been the color and graphics of the bat. The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX will also feature the same materials, but has a slightly longer barrel than its predecessors.
Tyler
My 8 year old son has small hands is 49" tall and weighs 50 lbs. He is small and has slow swing speed. Looking for the best fit for him to increase bat speed and control to get more pop. Makes contact but no pop at all, he is currently using Worth Copperhead 27/17. Thanks for the assistance! RT bat
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 28" model in the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat. This bat features a balanced swing weight making it a good option for a player with below average swing speed.
Aubrey
My son is 8 years old and 4' 2" and 52 lbs. He currently uses a Easton Reflex 27" 14 oz. but needs to move to a larger bat. What size would you suggest? Blaise
With the height and weight given we suggest that you get the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth in the 28" 15 oz. size.
Chad M.
My 11 year old son is 5' 2" 95 lbs would a 31" 18 oz. Easton Reflex or which other Easton bats would be good for him? MBat
Yes, the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth will work great for you in the 31" 18 oz. size.
Chad M.
My son is 9 years old (10/1/03), he is 53" and 73 lbs. I'm thinking of getting him the 30" 17 oz. option. What do you suggest? He hits line drives with heavier bats but is late on them, pushing them to right field or the right side of the infield (right handed hitter). JB
A 29" bat length is recommended for a player his size for the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth. With it being a -13 size he could very well use the 30" length because the bat will be so light.
Brandon
What size bat do you recommend for my 8 year old? He is 55" and 65 lbs. Lisa
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth is a good option for an 8 year old. We recommend a 29" based on his size and age.
Katie
I bought the -13 Reflex 31" so my son would have a nice new bat, after using his existing bat for around 2 seasons. I want to make sure it's appropriate for his age, height, and weight. He is a very good batter, but I'm looking to allow him to bring a little more power and speed to the plate, as it's his first season going against kids pitching as opposed to the machine. He is 9 1/2 yrs. old and 80 lbs. now, and was 55" (4' 7") in October. So, I would guess he's an inch or two taller. Please email me what you think about this particular bat for my son's use in games. ... Thank you! Michael
Based on his size, a 31" model of the Easton Reflex: LX73 is recommended. The Easton Reflex: LX73 is a balanced bat that is a great option for younger players looking to either maintain, or improve their swing speed. At it's current price, the LX73 is a great deal.
Tyler
Does this bat have a USSSA stamp on it? Lutch
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth is BPF 1.15 certified, but it does not feature the new USSSA stamp.
Mac
My 7 year old is 52 inches tall and weighs 62 lbs. He currently uses an Easton Rival, 28" 15 oz. bat. I am looking to buy him a new bat that is comparable to the Easton Rival. Would this bat be similar? Dad
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth would be a comparable bat to the Easton Rival as both models have balanced, one-piece alloy designs. Based on results from our Bat Coach tool (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we would recommend a 28" bat, or even 29" to allow for growth.
Mac
What bat has more pop? the Reflex or the S1? Chris
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat is a great one-piece fully alloy bat from Easton. The S1 youth bat will be a two-piece design. It will be fully composite in the handle and the barrel. Both bats will be balanced in swing weight. The S1 will be the better option.
Brandon
My grandson is 7, 80 lbs, and 4' 6". His league allows a big barrel and i'm thinking of getting him a 28" 18 oz. S3 big barrel. He is a big strong guy for his age. Marv
The Easton S3 big barrel is a very hot bat and it would be a great choice for your son. He should be using a 29" bat.
Noah
My son is 10 years old, 4'8" about 95 lbs. I would like to know what bat you would suggest for him? I am looking at the Easton Reflex and the Rawlings Raptor in 30". Tom T

Kara
My son is 8 years old 4', 59 lbs. He's a good contact hitter, but needs help with "pop". Would this or an Easton Convert be a better fit in your opinion for adding distance and swing speed? chicago shep
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth and the Easton Convert will both be very similar bats. The Easton Reflex has been more popular though.
Noah

The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth is a 2 1/4" youth model that is legal for the 6-12 year old Cal Ripken division of Babe Ruth.
Damon
My son is 11, 4'6" and about 90 pounds. Last season he liked his 28" 15 oz Easton Reflex. He's at a swing speed of 61 mph and working to improve. We're looking at the Reflex and the XL3. He swung the XL3 in a store and compared it to other 30" bats. Any thoughts between the two bats mentioned, or other recommendations? Christopher
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth is a very balanced model. If you are looking to improve bat speed, I would recommend not going with the XL3, but sticking with a balanced bat. The Easton S3 and the Demarini Vexxum would be great options to look at as well.
Justin R.

The Easton Reflex (LX73) Youth has a 2 1/4" barrel. Check out the Easton Reflex Senior League models for the 2 5/8" barrels.

Justin R.
Is this an alloy bat? fau
Yes, the Easton Reflex (LX73) Youth is a one piece alloy bat.
Aaron
Last year, my son had this bat and loved it. He has a hard swing and drove the ball well. He just turned 8 and is 4'11" 90 lbs. I'm debating what size bat to go with this year, 29" or 30"? Is it too much to jump to a 30"? Also, would you expect much performance drop in this model after one season of use? Erock
You should not see a drop in performance from just one season of use. Since he has a hard swing, we recommend a 30" Easton Reflex (LX73).
