Based on his height and weight, a 30 inch bat is most commonly recommended. The weight really comes down to the strength of the player and what weight they're currently using or used last season. However, based on his height and weight a bat between 18 and 20 ounces is typically recommended.

It depends on what kind of bat you need (youth, senior league, or adult). Based on his height and weight, a bat around 32 or 33 inches is recommended. The weight depends on what type of bat your looking for. If you need a Youth bat, then I would recommend something around 22 or 23 ounces. If you need a Senior League bat, then I would recommend something between 24 to 28 ounces. If you need an Adult bat, then I would recommend something around 29 or 30 ounces.

One think I've heard based on customer feedback, is that players feel the B3 has a slightly larger sweetspot. Even though a lot of people say the B3 has a larger sweet spot, they still say that the B4 has just as much pop as the B3.

I would recommend a 30" 18 oz bat. If you need just a little flex then I would recommend the Grifter. If you want a fully composite bat I would recommend the B4 which will have more flex.

Wow, tough call! Both are incredible bats. The B4 is a one piece all composite bat with unbelievable pop and nice balance, huge sweet spot. The Easton S1 is 2 piece fully composite with a Low MOI for faster bat speed. Huge sweet spot also.

Both the B4 and CF5 are going to have good pop because they are both composite. The B4 is a little stiffer so it would be better suited for a power hitter.

My 11 year old son will be playing with a competitive travel team this year for 11U. They will be playing in Little League, Cal Ripken League and Babe Ruth League tournaments. It is my understanding that composite bats have been outlawed with these three affiliations. I could not help but to notice the "Composite Barrel" written on the barrel. In the reviews section for this bat, several customers have said that they switched to this bat from other composites because of the new rules. Is this bat legal for these three affiliations? With his size and above average bat speed, I'd go with the 31/19, but if he prefers to stay at a 30, you could increase the weight to a 30/19 or a 30/20.

A lot more goes into it than just the player's height. However, if you need a youth bat for a player who is 5 feet tall, a 30 inch model would be most common with a weight between 17 and 21 ounces depending on the strength of the player.

We recommend you take about 100-200 swings off a tee or soft toss. Rotate the barrel about 1/4 inch every few swings. Stay away from using a composite bat in a batting cage that uses yellow dimpled balls as they can damage the composite material.

Both bats are great bats. The main difference is the design of the bat. The COMBAT B4 is a one piece composite bat, which is usually preferred by most power hitters. A one piece bat will be pretty stiff and help with their hits more than a two piece, which offers some flex when the ball is hit. The DeMarini CF4 is a two piece design, so it is going to be better suited for contact, or gap hitters. With that being said, you can't really go wrong with either bat and the decision comes down to what kind of hitter you are and what kind of bat you feel more comfortable swinging.

The COMBAT B4 does not have the new USSSA stamp. Instead, it has the old stamp, which is being grandfathered in for the 2012 season. The Easton S1 found here: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s1--yb11s1-youth/14430/ does feature the new stamp and is legal for use in 2012 and beyond.

According to USSSA rules, 2 1/4" barrels are legal in 2012 and 2013 if they have the old USSSA mark or the new USSSA mark. In 2014 all 2 1/4" must have the new USSSA stamp.

Since this is a composite bat, it is recommended not to use it in temperatures that are 50-55 degrees or lower. These colder temperatures can affect the balls and end up damaging the bat.

Since the COMBAT B4 is a full composite design, it will have a different sound than the traditional aluminum bat. Composite bats make more of a crack or thud type sound when hit and the aluminum bats make more of the traditional ping sound.

What is the difference between the-12 and the-10 Big boy
The -12 and -10 are referred to as the drop of the bat. You basically figure out what length the player needs to swing, and subtract the drop from the length of the bat to get the weight. Therefore, the -12 would be a lighter bat if you had the same length for both bats drops.

I can tell you from years of experience playing ball that paint chips are a somewhat normal occurrence. This is something covered by the manufacturer's warranty, but I always recommend saving your warranty for when something occurs that will actually effect the performance of the bat. The biggest difference is the Separation Barrier Technology featured in the Reloaded, but not the B4. This helps the Reloaded perform at its best right out of the wrapper and it won't require a break-in period like the B4.

We only show the sizes we have in stock. We do not have the COMBAT B4: B4YB1 available in a 29" model. This is a discontinued model, and we will not be getting any more in stock. It is a youth bat with a 2 1/4" barrel.

This COMBAT B4 (B4YB1) -12 Youth bat is listed on the most current Little League Approved Bats list (http://goo.gl/vaAV9R), and should still be approved for Little League in 2015. As of now, Little League Baseball does not require the newest BPF 1.15 stamp; just that the bat carries a BPF 1.15 certification mark. But I would absolutely check with a League Director concerning any bat legality question.

All bats will eventually become discontinued when a manufacturer changes its product offerings. But this bat also featured the older BPF 1.15 performance rating which needed to be updated by the manufacturer after the 2012 season. The B4 models were replaced by the B4 Portent line. And now that line has been replaced with the COMBAT Portent Youth Baseball Bat (PORYB112). This COMBAT B4 Youth Baseball Bat (B4YB1 -12) was a great bat, but COMBAT has moved on with their product line.
