Description

Last season, Easton's Power Brigade Series dominated the softball diamond. This season, the all new Power Brigade Series picks up right where the original Series left off so the concept of the Power Brigade remains the same: allow players to personalize their power. The fact is, that players draw power from different sources. Stronger players may want a bit more weight and endload to their bat, while smaller players want a little less weight and a balanced feel. Easton solves this problem by offering Power Brigade bats in two categories: The Speed Series and The XL Series. Speed Series bats (FS1, FS2, and FS3) are characterized by lighter length to weight ratios and balanced swing weights to produce faster swing speeds and more power as a result. XL Series bats (FX1 and FX2) are going to be a little heavier and have a endloaded feel, giving stronger players extra momentum through the zone and more power behind each swing. This bat, the FX1, is a two-piece fully composite design that features a barrel made from Easton's IMX Composite that uses ConneXion Technology to connect it to an ultra-thin handle made from their SIC Black Carbon Composite. If you're looking for extra POWER this season, there's only one logical choice: The Easton Power Brigade! Easton: Personalize Your Power! The FX1 is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by Easton's exclusive 12 Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

EXCELLENT BAT! 14sDad parent

Pros: Great POP and way more durable than the local "experts" say. Bought this (33/24) on line from a individual NEW for a great price for my 13yo first composite bat. WOW, even though most of her friends/ team mates had difficulty swinging it, she was driving the ball to the fence most every hit. At least 400 hit ball a week in the cage in the last 3 months and the only sign of wear is the "foul scuffs" on it and the ball still flies off the bat. If it broke tomorrow, I'd buy another one to replace it. She loves it!

Cons: Absolutely NONE !

14U Softball Dad Bob Smith parent

Pros: We bought the 33/24, Great bat. Took my daughter a little time to get use to the end loaded style of bat. Very little break in time. She is now consistently hitting it further. Even had a couple of HRs. This isn't a bat for slappers.

Cons: Only had it for 4 weeks. That's why the durability is only 1 star. No complaints.

Pros: So, I bought this bat a couple days ago. I play in 14u and got the 33/24. It had a very good pop in it and the ball drives right to the outfield every time. It gives you so much more power in your swing. I would recommend this bat to anyone who is trying to get more power behind the ball. I love it!

Cons: None.

2014 Easton FX1 drop -9 Mark parent

Pros: My daughter used the Easton FS2 fast pitch bat 31/21 (see our review FS2). We went with the Fx1 2 pc. with a little extra length 32 in. and -9 drop. Very impressive right out of the box. The bat has great balance and pop. It's a bit more end loaded for a bit more power, my daughter loves it....

Cons: The "kids" (parents) grow out of them and it's time for an upgrade, to give our kids the best chance to succeed at the game affordably.

My daughter is a power hitter on her JV team. Would this be a good bat for her or what bat would you think? softball dad
The 2014 Easton FX1: FP14X1 Fastpitch is an end loaded bat and is designed for a power hitter. It would be a great choice.
Kara
What is the lowest temperature you can play in with this bat? What would happen if you did? Softball Playa
The 2014 Easton FX1: FP14X1 Fastpitch should not be used in temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. We do not recommend using any bats below this temperature because the balls become harder and make the bats more susceptible to cracking or denting.
Justin R.
Is there a "break-in" procedure or period for this bat? What about cage time and use with "dimple" balls? I have heard it was a not recommended, if so, why? Thanks. CaptnBob
The 2014 Easton FX1 (FP14X1) requires a break-in period. Composite bats should not be used with yellow dimpled balls. The balls are too dense and can damage the composite material.
Kara
How does this bat compare to the MAKO? Does this bat take a decent amount of time to break-in, not hot out of the wrapper? G Diddy
The 2014 Easton FX1 (FP14X1) is a two-piece composite bat with an extended barrel. It is a an end loaded bat that is designed for a power hitter. The 2014 Easton MAKO (FP14MK) is also a two-piece composite bat with an extended barrel. However, it is a balanced bat that is best suited for a contact hitter. Both bats will require a break-in period.
Kara
What's the difference between the FX1 and the FX2? The only thing I can see is that the FX1 is a two-piece and the FX2 is a one-piece, but both are end loaded. So what is the advantage of one over the other? Steve
Correct, the 2014 Easton FX1 (FP14X1 Fastpitch) is a two-piece design, where as the FX2 is a one-piece. The major difference in those types of designs is that the two-piece will flex more during the swing. It will help acquire faster bat speeds. The FX2 will have a stiffer feel. I see many power hitting girls prefer the one-piece design when driving balls into the outfield. Both of these bats will have a barrel heavy feel for added power.
Brandon
Is this bat better than the worth 2legit? BOSS
Both the 2014 Easton FX1 (FP14X1) and the 2014 Worth 2 Legit (FPLGC) are great models and are top of the line composite bats. The difference would be that the FX1 is end-loaded and the 2 Legit is balanced. The bats also feature different connection point technology that offers different feel.
