The time is now… time for the hard work to pay off. Although snow is still on the ground in some parts of country, the baseball and softball seasons are here at last. Spring training is in full swing, as well as college baseball and softball. For most parts of the country, high school baseball and softball tryouts are underway as well. The fun part of actually applying your hard work on the field has finally arrived, but your work is far from over.
As we all know, the baseball and fastpitch softball seasons are filled with ups and downs. The adversity that the season offers is what makes baseball and softball the hardest, but most rewarding, sports on earth. There are countless drills you can do throughout the year to use as a warm up or if you have something in your swing you need to work on. However, there is one drill that has stood the test of time… tee work. Check out some of these simple but effective Tee Drill videos put together by our expert staff at JustBats.com.
Working at JustBats.com allows us to meet with some really cool people and even some ex-ballplayers (perhaps you’ve seen Hall of Famer George Brett in some of our promotional videos). Another Hall of Famer seen hanging around our facility is two-time Olympic fastpitch gold medal winner Michele Smith.
For those of you not familiar with Michele, she overcame a potential career-ending car accident while in college. Michele faced her adversity with a can-do attitude, and with hard work and rehab, became one of the most decorated pitchers in American fastpitch history.
Michele was nice enough to put together some training videos for us to share with you. We’ll begin sharing those with you as we get closer to the start of the Spring season. Today, Michele will share her story with us and also tell you how to properly choose a bat.
