Legit Performance

2014worthlegitThe 2014 Worth Legit Slow Pitch lineup is back and better than ever! Worth has combined its new Legit Power Core Molding Process with it’s classic 454 Technology to create the hottest Legit yet. Lets take a closer look at the technologies featured in the 2014 Worth Legit Slow Pitch bats.

Legit Power Core Molding Process

The Power Molding Process gives players the purest composite layers on the market. Worth has removed the wasted material sometimes found in composite bats to create a leaner, higher performing barrel.

HMF TECH (High Modulus Fiber Technology)

Worth’s HMF TECH is featured on the outer layer of the composite. This technology gives the carbon fibers a smaller diameter allowing for more fibers and less space in between them, which results in a higher performing and more durable bat.

Flex Fifty Technology

Flex Fifty Technology is designed to create “whip” action when you start your swing which helps to generate bat speed resulting in more power. It also allows for more flex at contact giving you a smooth comfortable feel at contact.

454 Technology

Worth’s famed 454 Technology extends the sweetspot 2” in both directions to give you one of the largest and most reactive sweet spots in the game.

The 2014 Worth Legit Slow Pitch line is available in USSSA, ASA, and Senior Softball models. Here is the 2014 lineup….

The Science Behind The Baden AXE

A hitter’s ability to correctly use their hands when swinging immediately helps them stand out at the plate, so why not use a bat that will put your hands in the correct position and increase your bat speed? That is where Baden comes to the rescue with their AXE handle technology. The handle of a Baden AXE looks just like it sounds, the handle of an axe. Lets take a look at the science behind Baden’s AXE technology and the five benefits to the AXE handle.

1. Made to fit your hands – The oval contour of the AXE handle aligns with the natural angles of your hand to provide a comfortable feel.

2. Puts the bat in your fingertips – Gives you a more efficient swing. When a bat is in the palm of your hands tension is created. Tension in your hands and forearms at the start of your swing will reduce your bat speed. With the bat in your fingertips, you increase your bat speed and more energy is transferred into the ball.

3. Consistent swing plane – The AXE handle creates one level swing plane giving the hitter a better chance at solid contact. With a higher percentage of solid contact at the plate there is sure to be a higher batting average as a result.

4. Powerful contact position – Some of you may be familiar with the hitting phrase “palm up, palm down”. For those who aren’t the phrase “palm up, palm down” refers to the ideal positioning of a hitter’s hand at contact, where one palm should be facing the sky and one palm should be facing the ground. This position allows the hitter to be stronger at contact and to stay through the ball. The AXE handle helps to put the players hands in this position.

5. Freer swing – With less restriction through the swing due to the flat backside of the handle, there is no protrusion into the palm, creating more bat speed and a freer release after contact.

The Baden AXE series is available in Adult, Senior League (Youth Big Barrel), and Youth models. It is also featured in both Fastpitch and Slow Pitch softball models. Check out Baden’s full line at JustBats.com and give us your feedback on the Baden AXE bats in the reviews section of our site. 2013 Easton Stealth

The Easton Stealth has always been a great bat in the past and there’s no exception with the 2013 line. Easton has come up with three amazing Stealth bats to try to appeal to every kind of player. The all new Easton Stealth 100 comes USSSA approved and made with an IMX composite for durability. This bat also has a huge sweet spot and Easton’s Connexion technology helps eleminate vibration in the handle. This bat also sports a 13.5 inch barrel. Next we have the Easton Stealth 98, this bat has all the same features as the Stealth 100 but has been toned down a little for the ASA. For the more advanced players out there we have the Easton Stealth 100H. This bat is a pro model for Brett Helmer who Easton sponsors. The biggest difference between this bat and the other two is the barrel length. The 100H model has 12 inch barrel so it’s a little shorter. The shorter barrel actually makes the bat a little more aerodynamic so it’s a faster swinging bat. It’s also an end loaded bat so it’s easier to generate more power in the swing.

Now that just touched the surface on the details of the three bats. JustBats.com Buyer’s Guide: Slow Pitch Softball Bats

Finding a slow pitch softball bat can be a very diligent task with how large the selection is out there.  Let’s break it down by a few certain key criteria to be sure you get a bat that fits your needs.

All slow pitch bats have 2-1/4 inch barrel, are 34 inches long, and generally weigh from 26 to 30 ounces. Only a few select slow pitch models are made in a 29 oz.  If you are a bigger player that loves to smash the ball, you probably are looking for something in the 28 oz to 30 oz range, whereas, if you are a smaller to average size player, you will probably want something in the 26 oz to 27 oz range.

When you search for a slow pitch bat, you’ll notice that they’re two different types to choose from, balanced and endloaded. Balanced models mean that the weight is evenly distributed throughout the bat, and an endloaded model means that the weight is distributed towards the end of the bat. Most players choose to swing a balanced bat, while big power hitters tend to opt for an endloaded bat.

It’s very important to make sure your bat meets league or tournaments rules.  There are many different sanctioned governing bodies such as ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, ISF and Senior Softball.  Leagues may require a certification stamp, so be sure to check your league’s listings to see what specs are necessary.  Check out JustBats.com for the largest selection of slow pitch bats, and remember, from click to hit.
