Every Monday we’d like you to meet someone new around here at JustBats.com. Get to know us a little better! Meet Lemmy! Lemmy works in the IT department and makes sure all the computers at JustBats.com are running smoothly! Here is what makes Lemmy tick.

1. How long have you worked here at JustBats.com?

2. What are some of your responsibilities in the IT Department?
Ensuring the network and servers are up and run flawlessly.
3. What do you enjoy most about being in the IT Department at JustBats.com?
Working with a great and fun team. We also get to use new and ever-changing technologies.
4. What are some challenges you face in IT?
Malware on personal computers and laptops.
5. What’s your favorite memory since working at JustBats.com?
When we placed red tape on all the servers’ green LEDs (you normally don’t want to see red light on servers) to prank my manager.
6. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Spending time with family and building robots with my son.
7. Any advice for people coming in to your line of work?
Be adaptable and ready to learn because IT changes very frequently.
8. What gets you laughing the hardest?
My son doing the chicken dance.
9. What’s your favorite sport and team?
It’s a toss up between Football with the Chiefs and Soccer with Sporting KC.

Every Monday we’d like you to meet someone new around here at JustBats.com. Get to know us a little better! Meet Shawn! Shawn works in the IT department and helps make sure everyones computers and equipment are running smooth! Here is what makes Shawn tick.

1. How long have you worked here at JustBats.com?
594 days, as of today (Monday).
2. What are some of your responsibilities in the IT department?
I ensure that the workstations and other office equipment are in working order.
3. Tell us about some of the challenges you face everyday dealing with computers and anything IT related.
The largest challenge of my day-to-day job is the highly differentiated tasks. I’ll be working with printers, scanners, workstations, servers, and shipping equipment all in the same day – sometimes before noon. I enjoy the high variability of my job.
4. What’s your favorite thing about working at JustBats.com?
The people and the amenities. I’d expand but it’d be all sappy.
5. What made you want to work with electronics and computers for a living?
I’ve been working on or with computers since ’95 when my dad got his. I immediately took the case off of it to see what was in there, I was hooked.
6. Any advice for people coming in to your line of work?
Don’t get stuck doing one thing, try to learn as much as you can about everything. There is so much new technology coming out all the time that will be mainstream in the near future.
7. What’s your favorite memory so far since you have been at JustBats.com?
I’m bombarded everyday with positive things and I dislike picking favorites in nearly everything. So I’ll pick working here.
8. When there is an issue with a computer, what is your process for finding a solution to the problem?
It’s a process of questions which when answered fix the issue. One of the below questions if answered should lead to a fix.
What isn’t working properly or at all? What happened before the issue occurred? How is it supposed to work? Are there any errors that can hint at what happened?
 9. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with friends/family, playing video games with friends, and doing nothing.
